reportedly 3.5m

I've heard the same number, £3.4-£3.5m however, Steve Evans says they've not spent much money, quote 'we only paid a transfer fee for Frecklington', avoiding the 'hidden' costs that are paid out in big wages. Interesting he was sounding off again on the radio saying those are implying RUFC are 'buying' promotion are wrong, Question, why would those in the game be saying that?

They are gambling, big time again if you ask me.

Its a fine line as to what is more obsessive....a town fan worrying about how many fans Rotherham will take to wembley and posting about it on here or Millers fans obviously reading another club forum on the off chance someone is talking about them!! How many times have the various Millers posting here actually been on waiting for the chance to post!

I would say S&D obsessive(about attendances).Millers reading our board just in case someone has posted something about them paranoid.

Was told from a spireite at work about stick we're getting on here only time I've posted before is for our games last year. I haven't read this site since last year because your not a club i have anything against just another localish side a similar size to us nothing more nothing less. As for ticket sales we're approaching 20k sold in 6 days which is a very good effort don't know what the original poster has against us but does he think you'd do better?

It puzzles me a bit. Rotherham were a team that couldn't beat us for 20 years until a couple of defeats there in recent years, so I always viewed them almost as whipping boys, as we were their bogey team. I'm sure many recall the 'You'll never beat the Spireites' chant. I think Radio Sheffield did their bit to stir up more rivalry when we were both in L2. Now they have a new stadium and are suddenly doing well and, coupled with Sheridan's relegation blunder, some of their fans are giving it the big 'un. Some of ours have unfortunately reacted to this, claiming the Millers are on a collision course with administration. I don't buy into that theory at the moment, but we will see. I hope they don't go up largely because it's potentially another derby game to look forward to next season.

Oh ... Interesting ! A good post Spire Power,

Yes there were many years that you really had the hoodoo over us, and we could not wait for that to end.

The 5 - 0 battering you gave us really hurt - but things have come to light recently about our former manager, and it makes me wonder just what he was actually up to in the bigger scheme of things. I am not making excuses, you hammered us, but our performance in that particular match belied our league position and it resulted in his sacking.

Our club has not looked back since.

I agree with most of what you posted - Except of course I don't want us to lose on Sunday.

Been told off a chesterfield fan at work about the stick we get on here so thought I'd have a look and my god you really are obsessed with us. How many threads is their about us? All I can put it down to is jealousy it has to be. Go on our forum (millersmad) and look how many threads there are about chesterfield. You'll be looking a long time because there are none. If we don't go up this year we'll be up there again next year will you? I very much doubt it. Just make sure you enjoy sunday should we lose because you'll get nothing from us if we're in same league. Enjoy your tinpot ground and relegation battle children goodnight.

So all these Millers cropping up on our forum just happen to work with Town fans, do they?

Or were they merely, y'know, passing by.

And as for your 'the only times I've posted were when we played each other' claims, the briefest of glances at your 'content' reveals that's clearly not true.

Let's not forget a plethora of manic outbursts about us on 'TFF', either.

And hey, they all seem to contain the same 'tinpot...not rivals...smaller...jealous...wibble-wibble' kinda stuff, too.

I guess if you keep obsessively repeating it someone, somewhere, at some point might believe it's somehow true.

Well, maybe.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

Not really interested in this argument, but am interested in the Millers' wage bill, what makes a competitive budget for L1 and how we might compare - do you know what you've spent this year?

Do any of the Millers posting on here know the answer to this? Genuinely interested

I have absolutely no idea, but according to 3 of your wise comrades,it was 2.5 million on Tuesday,3.2 on Wednesday, and now its up to 3.5 .Its no secret we have a capped wage bill, and possibly cost us the signing of Dicko.
My sister has met Mr Stewart several times on business meetings, and says he is a typical hard headed Yorkshire business man.He wont spend 20p,if he thinks he can get it for 19p.Make of that what you will.

Lessons will have been learned from L1 last time round. Cook will have more money to spend but he will have much less to spend than Fatty and will have to find players at the right money as he has done so far. I expect we will be averaging around 7k next season rising to 8k+ should we have a season like you have had (that would be remarkable so it's not expected, as I'm sure you didn't expect it to happen). Btw its long overdue that you found a sponsor for your stadium (naming rights). No Millers fan seems able to answer this point.

I agree, ive been thinking of a few names.Ive come up with b4fishnets,and the Priority Prozak Priory.Or we could just give it an iconic name, that is relative to the area.Ive got it,New York.Brilliant.

My alarm's for work. And this is my club's messageboard. There's more than subtle difference in the thought process.

You've dodged the question.... so presumably you cant find a sponsor!

I think calling it the New York Stadium is great! It's funny because it's actually situated in one of the UK's biggest sh**holes!

The reason I raised this is because naming rights can bring in some serious money and, with the club supposedly being run by a hard-nosed businessman, he isnt going to turn that kind of wonga away. The reason seems to be that they cant find a sponsor, even though that may be a bit odd.

Attacking the integrity of your former hero, to deflect attention away from a proper thrashing, impressive. I like Ronnie (unlike the current incumbent) he took the defeat in good humour as he did the 20 years of hurt, he shouldn't have lost his job then and looking at the facts coming out of his hearing today has got nothing to be ashamed of, can you say the same about Evans ?
