If we have championship ambitions we have to put the money in.
Well yes thats true but it has to be tempered by a bit of realism. Rotherham will get £4m next year. I dont know what they have spent this year (£2.5m+ at a guess) but promotion has made any gamble on their part a success financially, and add to that the bigger clubs and they will be having more £ from a lot of near-full houses. But only 3 clubs can go up, so it's bad for those L1 clubs who gamble seriously and fail. If our L2 budget was £1.4m I reckon nearer £2m is required next season for Cook to mount any kind of play off challenge - unless he can work a miracle. But DA wont agree with me as its his money not mine.

Can we have the same ambition as Leyton Orient?
They made it all the way to a last penalty of the season and their budget is nowhere near their opponents today.

They'll be back at the end of next season though
That's churlish, Scabby Luke said same about us because of his jealousy. We have just been promoted ourselves so lets enjoy it, not diss Rotherham. Ok Orient were the better team and Rotherham were very long ball, but they scraped up and its a big achievement.

They've not made the mistakes town did when we went up last time and they've even progressed further than those in charge could have expected this season.
Stewart must be rubbing his hands at the games next season in the Championship.
They've continued on the back of the promotion from last season, the feel good factor / momentum and somehow managed to do it again. Something town should have done last time.
I just hope town can achieve it in my lifetime(Championship), if its only for one season!
Hope Mr Allen & Mr Turner have learned the lessons from last time?.............time will tell.

Well they removed Sheridan so that was one lesson learned.

Churlish my arris, I am talking trolls here.
They'll likely be in a struggle next year, we won't be. The trolls who infest this message board recently will be anticipating renewing rivalries

Evidence please, it would be interesting to see their wage bill funded by 4000 crowds?

I thought you meant their trolls would be back at the end of next season cos Rotherham would go down. Until this forum is for Spireites only there will always be trolls and tbf we probably have some who do the same thing on other forums such as Mansfield's.

.to many local derbys are not good
Rotherham are better than us as it stands but, if they had stayed down and we strengthened properly, next season might have been a different story. I'm disappointed we havent got the Millers derby. If you are looking at local teams to fear next season the obvious one is Sheff U. We have Donny, Barnsley, Sheff U and Notts on the menu and possibly Burton. Scunthorpe too if you consider them a derby. Plenty to look forward to.

Didn't DA say next season only gates would be going to the budget? The rest to go on debt reduction?
