Right gentlemen, I am looking for some ideas for my stag do in July.
I have never had a night out in Chesterfield as I don't live in the area so I'm planning on coming to town.
What I need to know is where to go, is there anywhere we can all get a decent meal before hitting the drink?

depends what you are after and what time you are gonna be out

The Market Pub and The Rutland do decent pub food and are in the Town Centre, both have good selections of real ales an all if you like that sort of thing

If you are after a curry and then beers you have Raaz in Town, close to a few pubs or Gulab and Zahids in Brampton, both good then you have all the Brampton pubs

Several options for Chinese food, Dynasty very good, also on Brampton so near pubs

There are two specialist steakhouses in the town centre (Soulville and Galleon) both decent

For a Town Stag do I would suggest doing Brampton, starting at top end and working way down, then have a curry after beers at Zahid or even Westbars

Only reason is I live in newark. Second time married. Getting married in cornwall so I don't want a great expense before wedding. Never been out in town.

Barley Mow, always a favourite starting point for us, nice grub, great staff and good beer. Show footy too on a number of screens if there's any on when you have your stag do.

We had an 'its a knockout' themed stag do in nottingham for a mates stag, with the games at the racecourse then hotel for a quick change tickets for a strip club( which we didn't go to) then out on the ale, and 4 star hotel for the nite and all for only 80 quid a man was excellent, personally I wpuld be lookin at something like rather than a nite dodging druggies and nobheads in the town centre

Bachelor Party for me. As much as I hate Americanisms, they're preferable to anything to do with Stags!
