There you've dared to say it. And its what I have been thinking. Certain folk have banged on about bringing back Evatt, a player who hasn't played first class football for nearly a year, to replace a man on top of his game, who formed part of a defence who had conceded four league goals.

Last time I saw Evatt in a live match on TV, he looked rather slow, and he aint going to get any quicker. The hope clearly is that his experience and ability to read a game will get him through, but I don't see it as a given. Meanwhile, for me, its back to Hird and Cooper next week.

And you're not the only one who has dared to think it! I also wonder why we re-signed IE - it's not as though we were desperately short of CBs after all. I've also been arguing (along with some others on here) that we should NOT break up the Hird/Cooper partnership unless one or both of them hits a rough patch or it's forced on us by suspension. Based on a number of comments on this board, Evatt is nowhere near match fit and we added to our second half problems by defending too deep, so as to allow for his lack of pace and stamina. Like some others on here, I don't understand why PC didn't simply slot Darikwa into the RB slot and leave the two CBs unchanged - and I genuinely thought that when I saw the team line-up (via the internet; I didn't go to the match) well before half-time and when we appeared to be cruising to another 3 points.
If nothing acts faster than anadin, why do we buy anadin?

I see people are thinking/contemplating why we signed IE, why are we playing him etc. At the time of the signing, I think everyone was delighted. We all felt we were short at CB with just Brown, Cooper and Hird (who was on the transfer list and a lot of people unconvinced by his ability.) So I think we thought IE to be the final piece of the jigsaw. He suffered a serious knee injury and is working his way back, I am certain he will be a good acquisition for us in the long run.
