A mate of mine at the Club tells me Ian Evatt has agreed terms subject to a strict medical. Apparently he sustained a very bad knee injury which lead to his release from Blackpool, however if he demonstrates fitness he'll be pulling on the royal blue of Town once more.

I hope those nob-heads that gave grief to the bloke who wrote off thousands of pounds of what he was due when leaving Town are more generous on this return.

On that subject I'm also told Cresswell signed for Fleetwood with a very heavy heart. Town was his destination of choice all along, and though we upped our offer to six figures Fleetwood's nearly two hundred grand bid - with add-ons - was simply too much to turn down.

Again I hope his reception at the Proact reflects that fact.

I'd be delighted to have him back. He's just the shot of experience and leadership that the team needs and Cooper couldnt ask for a better partner to keep learning the trade from.

A fit Ian Evatt would be a stunning signing. Hope it comes off.

For me, he's a similar player to Coops & unless Evo's short of options, I can't see us getting anywhere near the type of salary he'd command.

What a signing this would be. Even a 90% fit Evo in the basement would be some addition to the squad.
A new hope.

Seeing Evatt back in a blue shirt is something I thought I would never see, if this comes off and I have no reason to doubt the original poster as he's usually right it would be a stunning signing. Mouthwatering is how I would describe the squad Cooky is amassing, Evatt could well be the final piece of the jigsaw ?

I'd be stunned and delighted at this news. Loved the guy once he'd been shunted out of midfield by Roy.

This would be fantastic news, and one I'd really welcome and hope it comes off. However, currently we have 4 centre backs already on the books, Cooper, Hird, Brown and Broadhead, plus Edwards who's on a 6 month loan.

If Evatt did sign, does this mean we already have plans / movement on Hird or Broadhead for example or would Edwards return, as 6 centre backs in a squad of 21 is surely to many.

Tremendous to hear. This one has been kept pretty quiet. Time for a beer to celebrate!
