Yes it was but that's partly my point, do we need that many back room staff? I don't think so personally but everyone sees things differently

We had a Labour Government didn't we?

if they were to leave it would signal the end of the youth team and I'd be waiting for the announcement. But, as someone has said there is a lot of central funding for youth teams - but it also needs to be remembered that the PL have changed the rules so they can cherry pick any youth team players from the FL for virtually nowt so we may really be cutting our losses and shutting down. It'll all come out in the wash.

On the subject of funding, has it changed for first year pros?

Does anybody think Tommy Lee might not sign a new contract when his current one ends with Crossley gone?

I left school in 1977 and haven't seen my favourite teacher since. People tend just to get on with it.

People talking about this is the end of the youth team maybe correct, no deals for anyone currently in the youth team and ive heard whispers that nobody has been offered the two year scholarship from the u16s or whatever it is.

That is totally untrue.

Jack Broadhead has been offered and signed a contract, plus there are 9 new scholars joining the club next season. I believe 4-6 have come through our set-up including Eddie Dakwa, Mitch Mullins, Jake Beesley, a massive goalkeeper called Armstrong i think & Laurence Maguire

We have got to be a "selling club" don't forget.
If we don't produce the talent in the first place then how can we be a selling club? There's not many teams in our position that can pluck players out of obscurity and sell them on to bigger and better things.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Why would we want them to unearth nut based confectionery?

Because that type of player is full of energy ! 283 kJ per 100gms. is typical. He is the type of player that can run all day - pace and energy to burn.

we've released some very good players, Whitaker and Trottman were both unlucky and O'Donnell, Boden and Clay should have no difficulties getting a new job. None of them have ever let us down and all have played important parts in games for us - even Wafula looked to have a lot of promise. I imagine cost and travelling (in some cases) has made the decision easier although all of them can feel a tad unlucky.

The cull strongly suggests that we have other players (and staff) lined up ready to sign. I'm expecting a few announcements this week - in fact I'd be surprised if we didn't hear something today. If they are as good as the lot on their way out we'll be doing very well, if they are better then I shall be highly delighted!

Assuming Drew doesn't resign, will that only leave Tommy from the championship winning side? Things change very quickly in football sometimes

Dave Allen said on Saturday Night.

"We Will Get There" We have plans and We will Get There.

It was indicated that there would be a FULL Clear Out, I must admit I didn't believe it and even think of how FULL he meant but, there has been more movement since PC has arrived then any other time at CFC. Today is only emphasising that PC is up for the job and has an idea of what he wants and DA is supporting him all the way.

Yes he did but he also said to those sat at our table, when on about Drew Talbot,if we cannot compete with teams such as Doncaster in terms of offering players contracts,i find it very hard to believe 'we will get there'......

 If we had competed with Barnsley a couple of seasons ago we may have maintained our Div1 status.Lesson learnt perhaps.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but could the reason for the current non-decision on Randall and Brindley be because they're both under 24, so we would have to offer them a new contract in order to get a fee, even though we might think that they're going to go elsewhere? I'm just trying to think what the difference could be in their cases compared to Drew, where a contract offer has been announced, even though he's widely expected not to accept it. I know Brindley's current injury has been menttioned as well, but I wasn't under the impression that was potentially serious enough to be contract threatening.

Brindley was offered a deal, but with the agent problems, I guess it was rejected.
