rob jones was never in a million years going to come here,he has been outstanding this season for donny and has relished the coaching role he has been given this season,i hope the cresswell and jones rumour is not linked as it may mean we have no chance of cresswell.

I was very skeptical of the Jones rumour to be honest especially since he was part of the management team there and them doing pretty well. I just remembered someone posting him on here as being a target so thought i would post that news.

I hear Chesterfield are working hard to sign Ryan Creswell from Southend. Doubt we've seen the last of the departures too #CFC

Seriously, it's an interesting one.. Do you think Cook would be happy (or not) to free up his wages if someone took over his contract?

The way Richards performed towards the end of the season, I’d be inclined to think PC would like to keep him as he is a proven goal scorer at this level.
If only....

In agreement with exactly what you say; though it certainly would be an interesting scenario if it was to happen. I suppose it depends if Cook knows he can land a good enough replacement to as to whether he'd consider it or not. Yes it would allow him to sign another player (besides the replacement striker), but IF he can't bring in an adequate replacement it's not worth considering.

I think Richards could turn out to be a fan’s favourite next season. All clubs like to have a talisman and with Lester now resigned to the history books, the supporters will want to get behind someone else. Richards has an opportunity to step out of Lester’s shadow and really stamp his authority on the club and if he keeps free from injury, I think he will..

A Cresswell/Cooper partnership has the potential to be very imposing if he were to sign. Coupled with Lee in goal and Smith at LB we have the makings of a very good defensive unit.

I hope so. Tbf I think Rico is in a lucky position that not many of our players get, as I feel the fans want him to be the footballer that we thought we'd signed, so it really is down to him not to let the fans expectations down. I really hope he can be our new hero. His last few games game me some belief that he can, but he's got a lot of work to do as last season wasn't good enough, no matter what some fans chose to believe and I’m sure he’d agree with that sentiment.

Agreed. Get him in then Cook's got to turn his attentions to supply as our creative side in the squad was almost nil and void last season. PACE is something that we must address, also physical strength.
If Talbot doesn't sign we also need to sort the right back out. I can't wait to see who Cook brings in after his signings so far (Coop's, O'Shea, Darikwa, Lee, Smith)

It will be interesting to see what formation PC chooses and who will play up front with Richards. Given that Doyle is on his way and possibly Boco, we will have some decent attacking options along with Nando, O’Shea and Darikwa.

I take it you don't rate Cresswell then Dave?

His most recent performance against was as good a defensive perfomance as I've seen from an opposition defender. I think he scored the winner too.
