By the same token, he certainly wasn't good. Out of his depth when he was here

Possibly a bit like Randall....technically good in terms of passing and striking a ball but split the support in half in terms of how he went about games with some passing him by. Frustrating as, again, like Randall you could see he had some talent.

Had it in him to be a great player, but he was his own worst enemy. Threw away a good career in English football, mainly because he didn't seem able to buckle down and play for the team.

Being a few stone over weight didn't help either

No change there then.

I was in the pub in Belper on Saturday and Steve Warne and Andy Rushbury (now of Belper Town) were in- decent blokes- had a bit of a chat and they agreed that Folan had loads of talent but was too laid back to make the most of it. Warne told me he made his debut in the match away at Barnsley- a day I remember quite clearly as Caleb was introduced to the crowd and then we lost because Ben Williams wasn't wearing a cap when facing the sun and Barnsley kept lobbing high balls in which he kept missing.

Correct - and Rory fallon out jumped him to score a goal too unless my memory desieves me?

Josh Thompson has joined Colchester Utd on a months loan from Portsmouth.

A deal now agreed to take him there permanently, once the window re-opens. (on a free)

18 month deal apparently

Thank goodness the artificial dullness of the transfer window closure is ending. It's been very boring. I expect to see transfers involving a good number of ex Spireites go through within the next few weeks!
