Jesus Wept!

It gets reported that a player gets a comical fine for a being late once and all of a sudden he's a serial non-tryer who's career has been hindered by perpetual tardiness??!!

He was late for a meeting, big deal! Torquay have signed him on a long term loan deal from us, and long term loan deals connot be terminated early (ie outside the transfer window) so even if he went on walkabout for a week, they couldn't send him back!
Do we have to take very possible oppotunity to slate an (ex?) player??

They can if he gets injured, Simon Walton gone back to Plymouth from Sheff U a prime example.

Because technically he is still our player and if we want any resale value it is in our interests to get the player fit again.........but we're probably going to let him go on a free transfer or by mutual consent anyway.

his contract is up at the end of the season, it won't be renewed, we want him off the wage bill asap.

On another topic, I see David Dowson played against us in the reserve game yesterday

just got back from a very entertaining FA Cup replay at New Mills where (a rather portly) Mark Innes played for the home side and Martyn Booty was assistant manager for visitors Curzon Ashton. The Derbyshire side won 3-2 in a game which had two own goals, a penalty and two visitors sent off!

I may also pop across to Staveley MWs game tomorrow night - the Miners have just signed Ashley Foyle from Sutton Town to bolster the ex Spireites in their ranks

he was unlucky when he was here, and he has developed since, hence why he is in Leeds first team now and was sent out on loan last season.

A look at Madine will further show how someone can progress, how many people rated him when he was here!

Nice to see he's still capable of making a step up in class at this late stage of his career.

This post sort of ties in with the Dereck Niven debate recently.

Although GD was never a first team player he was in the squad, and DN was a regular. The quality we now have has pushed DN down the pecking order almost into the role of the likes of GD.
A new hope.

Dan Gray is the current side's Gareth Davies. No position to call his own, useful as cover in an injury crisis but not much more. A great deal to prove, if he's not careful his career could follow a similar path to Gareth's. I was truly amazed that Sheridan gave him a new deal, let alone a two year one. I wonder if he kept the negatives :D

That's a strange move considering that Boston signed him from Matlock, he can't be fitting in over in stumpland.
