Was anyone brave enough to question Roy why he took Hurst off and then put Allot (who doesn't have a left foot) on the left wing?

I'm really intrigued to know the reason why?

But then again, I know b****r about football. What do you hav eto say about it Mr Richardson?

I know someone text through and wanted to ask why Roy kept taking Hursty off, but Roy didn't do an interview, it was Lee Richardson and I didn't get the chance to hear it

He has played left side midfield on numerous occations in the past and O'hara was more effective bursting thro' the middle and has the better shot from distance.

Hurst had to go to bolster the defence by bringing on Blathers and allowing Allott to move forward from right back to give us more control in midfield. If you can't understand a simple substitution, how do you follow the game when it gets a bit technical? When you're a man short, individual effort doesn't come into it - it's the balance of the team which is important, and something which we haven't been too good at in the past. But looking back today I think Mac was spot on with both subs, though they came as a surprise at the time.

It seemed to me that Allot was put on the left to do the same job as Hurst, unfortunately his crosses weren't of the same standard. If Allott had played in the middle on the left, I would agree with you, but from where I was sitting Allot (of whom I am a fan BTW) was trying to do the role of Hursty. It was that decision that bemused me. But thanks again, I've obviously got a lot to learn - even about simple substitutions LOL!
