@ASFCblog: Leam Richardson to be offered the managers job today. Will take a few days to assess the situation, whether or not to head to #CFC as no.2
Could this be the end for TW and MC?

Thanks for everything but Bye Bye.
Me also, Tommy has to go while ever he is here the whole black cloud of the last eighteen months will also be here imo, for Mr Cook to have a chance of turning us around one of the reasons why were in this mess has to go. Just for the record I am convinced Tommy had more of an input into team selection, tactics etc while Sheridan was here than we all seem to think.

Wasn't the remit for the job, that Cook comes in and works with the existing backroom team though??
Even so, I think we need a clean break, and don't think it will be too long before TW leaves the club, under whatever circumstances.
I'm hoping Leam Richardson is brought in, in some other capacity anyway, in the knowledge that the asst mngr job will be his in the not too distant future. Would also give us a bit of extra cover at RB.
MC, is a different kettle o fish for me. Would like to see Norm retained in a coaching role.

Why keep MC? TBH his goalkeeping recommendations i.e. Fleming, O'd, Soldeberg etc etc have not exactly not had the (positive) impact we should have expected from our goalkeeping coach? Lee was already here before MC arrived so he can't take too much credit for him either. Fresh broom I say.

Maybe so, but Fleming? Soldeburg? O'D? what did MC's coaching skills do for them?
In the words of Monty Python's Life of Brian..What did the Roman's ever do for us?
Apart from Lee giving credit to MC, what did MC ever do for us?

O'donell isn't that bad. He's an understudy, goalkeepers generally are a bit shaky until their mid-late 20's.

The way I see it is that you can polish a turd etc - yes, MC probably has done wonders with Tommy, because he had the natural raw ability and drive. The failures we've seen here haven't had the same level of ability, so not much could be done. At the end of the day, you don't have as much experience as MC and not have anything at all to pass on. Remember, even the Crewe academy won't strike gold every player. You have to have something to work with.

Fleming wasnt helped by coming into a crap side consistently giving crap goals away and he never really had a chance after that. Sodeburg wasnt here long so MC wasnt going to have much of a chance to coach him as with O'Donnell to date. Hasnt he also run the reserve team up to a point recently who i believe are top of their reserve league and must be doing something right for us to have been in a position where we turned down an approach from Birmingham who wanted to take him...unless we apply the "Bowery rule" where despite the fact a higher league club wants them they are still crap and that club is wrong!! From the outside its hard to see how much impact he has in training or on tactics etc but he must have been doing something right and i'm not convinced he should be slung out just cos the manager at the time was crap!!

Fair point, though surely there's some pretty devious sales talk from the parent clubs to offload them for loan? Aye, he's made some cock ups, but so did TW, so did JS.

Crossley will be an expensive Goalkeeping coach for this level and apart from the improvements in Tommy Lee, which he could claim credit for, he hasn’t done anything else of significance. In his first season with us he was registered as a player when clearly well past his best (stealing a wage?). Redmond and Fleming were both woefully short of the desired standard, Soldeberg was a poorly scouted player and whilst O’Donnell has done ok, he’s hardly performed any better than anything else we’ve seen in this division.

He only took issue with him not releasing it sooner. Bit harsh really as most were a bit dilatary in moving up anyway. Similarly, he kept shouting at Thora to gee the players up.
