I wish I'd been supporting town for a couple more seasons than I have :( Infact a bit more than that as I'd have loved to have seen the Rangers game.

The home game (evening k.o) was a magical atmosphere and a deserved win! Unforgettable. Almost all town pubs locked their doors before game on advice of the local LVA and / or police because of the Rangers fans' reputation.

Probably one of Sheff Utd's better bits of business.

Bought him for £160k,sold him for £400k.

Skilful player, but sadly lacking in pace, only played 23 games for Leeds before heading back home.

Seem to remember he was hailed as the new Tony Currie at Bramall Lane, which he patently wasn't and the fans never really took to him.

Went too watch utd v riverplate at bramall lane as a kid
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

Not sure if mentioned already but didnt Darren Bent play and score against us in the league cup.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!

Had the pleasure of seeing Pele play for Santos at Hillsborough in the 70's.

Surely the most decorated player Town have ever played against was Lauren Blanc, in what I believe what was John Duncan's testimonial match against Man Utd. I even think that he scored too. Blanc has won the World Cup once in 1988 and is twice a European Cup winner.

Edgar may be highly decorated as a Dutch Player but has never won the World Cup

Anglo- Scottish Cup was magic. Rangers away was the only game i missed. Wing stand for home leg. Invading the pitch at Meadow Lane after Alan Crawford's last minute winner. Great memories.

They had a reputation that is why i went into stand for the home game but i still had to get to it,but it was their reputation that put me off going in kop.....no way today would we take 2000 up there not in midweek anyway....

I've been to watch Scottish Div 3 a few times and I loved it but I doubt 2000-odd would want to see us play against a team at that poor level......

1998- cruelly denied his place in the Final by Bilic's filthy cowardice.
These go to eleven.

Kevin Keegan for Scunthorpe 68-71. I remember him up front with Tommy Cassidy he was only a young kid. Bruce Rioch was also playing for Luton. All I can rember was that the day we played Luton the kop was split 50/50 Luton, Spireites with a row of police dogs down the middle to stop the 'friendships'
FASTER....FITTER....STRONGER

Shilton played against us, for sure. I remember the old "Pompey" boy in me coming to the fore, and Southampton-related abuse being directed towards him, to the general bemusement of those around me.

I expect you have seen the Sky is Blue article about it that includes footage.

I have, thanks anyway. Just listening to some of the accounts is special and would like them to keep coming (though I thought it would make a great close season topic to fill in a few voids with the lack of action ;) ).

Happy Days!

I was one of the thirty or so that flew up to Glasgow.

I also flew to Glasgow on the Barry Watson chartered Dakota

We were longer on the bus coming back from East Midland airport dropping everyone off than we were in the air lol
