f2 - did you go tonight? Accy played us off the park. Appoint Tommy as you wish. It will be just another mistake. Tonight illustrated what quality coaching looks like.

To play the old devils advocate - if Tommy Lee had been in goal do you think we would have let in 3 goals?

Yes they play it very well accross the middle, and with 5 in there it works for them, however would they have scored 3 for all the possesion and nice football played?

In a nut shell, playing nice football does not allways win games, although they must take credit for doing it on a shoestring

Good grief Keith CFC weren't even good enough to be a close second to Accy tonight. Seriously we were played off the park for large periods of the game. We were fortunate that their defence was pants. Accy were worth the attendance money tonight.

So the coaching isnt all that?
A new hope.

We were taught a footballing lesson for the majority of the game.....we got away with it big time.........we won't always.... Glad of the win but nothing's changed. We are terrible out of possession. We can't defend from top to bottom. The best way to win a game is to not let the opposition score. We continually ship goals. The centre back pairing is the worst I've seen in years. We've let better go. no real width . Nothng left side. Talbot needs a rest IMO . Keeps getting channelled inside. Centre midfield was shocking. I'll leave young Atkinson alone. He played well Saturday. Tonight passed him by. He should've gone off much earlier. Togwell? I don't see what he brings.
Sheridan has left us an unfit , unbalanced squad which seems lacking in motivation and self belief.
Only true quality is the number 14.

Thats the real problem. The front 2 do not, for me, work the opposition full backs enough. When we dont have the ball the CF`s should be one in the Centre circle, the other on the fullack depending on which side of the field the play is - close down options.

The Midfield sit off far too deep, allowing time an space for the opposition midfield to pick a pass, look for runners and movement. They need to pick a man when the side does not have the ball and harrass them, not giving any time to play. They need to work on the basics of shape - the old Everton 2 banks of 4 - 25 yards apart, each covering the area of responsibilty so the half of our pitch is denied the opposition. Make them work and force an error to give possesion of the ball to us - in the basement that should be the basis of defending as on the whole players are not good enough to break this down easily.

Sort that out, and the defence will pretty much sort it self out.
A new hope.

NEM - I think we're splitting hairs - Accy showed what quality coaching can achieve.

O'Donnell went down like a sack of spuds for their third.
