Yes, we attacked well yesterday but defensively we were still naive.
Didn't you see that?
I know you would've done if Sheridan was still in charge.
Double standards.

We sat back for a lot of the second half, yes. I don't think it was a conscious managerial decision to do so. You could tell the team were nervous due to recent results and that won't have helped.

You're probably right in that I would've criticised had Sheridan been at the helm.. but he had a season of failure and also started this season badly . I reckon we should properly judge Wright after a few more games.

Please tell me why. It doesnt make a very good debate when you say something like that without stating any reason.
By the way I think Queen were crap! So MMNNNEEERRRR! :D

You imply that he's not is own man, in the sense that he'd been sheridans assistant for 6 years do would have his methods ingrained in him. If that were the case then no apprentice in any trade would differ from their "teacher" and it would be a robotic state.

Well as far as i'm concerned all the players are playing a lot better for a start. You could tell they didn't want to play for Sheridan!

i'm not so sure.

listening to TW's interviews before the game yestdi, he mentioned the new lad from hudders was on the radar last year and that they wanted to bring him in then, so to me that means we are still signing SHERIDANS players/targets, thus not moved on,

as for the game, as good as the result was i can't help but think the early sending off did for WW, but for that the scoreline might have been different, apart from the 15 mins or so after the sending off when they lost all shape and we took advantage, it seemed a pretty fair contest, infact for a long spell of the 2nd half THEY were the better team, i still am not convinced TW is the man to take this club/team forward, but whilst ever he is in charge will try to support him and as long as we keep getting the results thats all that matters.

For me we need a new face at the helm!TW wilL NOT BRING BACk Some of the stayaways he is a big part of the shezza regime.

If the team is successful, supporters will return regardless of who is in charge.

Its grossly unfair to suggest that Tommy Wright isn't his own man.

Its equally daft to suggest that Tommy didn't/doesn't share the same views as John Sheridan re football. They've been hand in glove for far too long.

CFC will need a new broom - sooner rather than later.

Not in the big numbers you would expect, we need a man who appeals to thr fans TW will always be known as shezza,s mate.

Firstly. After reading my post again I can see where you get that conclusion from.
Its not my point at all.
What I'm saying is that both Tommy & JS sat down, devised a plan together that would bring success to the club that they are (were) at, it worked.
Now if you have been taught how to do something you will always think of a way to do the same thing differently with the outcome being a positive one.
But if you have thought of a way to do something yourself in the first place (and you get success from it) you will always have it in your mind that its a successfull way so why change it when its your own idea?
The formation & tactics we played yesterday were no different from when Sheridan sat in the managers seat for most of his three seasons so what makes people think that just because Sheridan isn't here to impliment his plan that the plan both he and Tommy devised isn't still gonna be adhered to?

The small minority that frequent this board can’t agree of a potential new Manager so people can always find excuses not to attend. Financially it’s hard for a lot of supporters to attend and I would guess that is a more prominent reason for non attendance. If TW can get the team winning and pushing for promotion, I can’t imagine they would continue to use “he’s Shezza’s mate” as an excuse.

If true then they should hold their heads in shame. Are they not supposed to be playing for all the supporters who have paid good money to watch them?

You're right we havent moved on... stupid people with banal arguments are still allowed to post on the internet.

Chuff me do we have to play six degrees of separation when interviewing someone?

My understanding is that Huddersfield have only just said, 'he needs football', very recently.

So if we find a good player, but can't get him until after a manager has gone, should we not sign him?

Hmmm....that's a tough one.
In principle I guess you are right.

But when you're faced every (working) day with a man who you thoroughly dislike, who is your boss and holds complete sway over your career, I can't see how it would not affect you.

Unprofessional maybe, but they're still human.

It doesn't have to mean in a conscious manner, ie their heads are down, not enjoying their work etc therefore performance suffers. I thought you might have understood being nice to folk elicits a more pleasant association

It's a win-win situation. We criticise the manager for "losing the dressing room" then, as soon as he's at home pruning the daliahs, we criticise the players for it.

I agree about the cost, but most fans are an impatient lot and demmand immediate success. And for some fans bringing in a new broom,me included, gives them more hope for a change for the better than sticking with the old regime that got us relegated.I wish TW & MC all the best but at the moment I'm not filled with confidence that they are the right pair to bing us success ( a mid table finish would be failure in my eyes).

I was there yesterday. Apart from playing it around instead of long ball football what was the big difference?
We still sat back and invited them to attack.

Differences between TW and JS

He interviews well. Does not growl st the journalist. Most interviews are double the length of JS
Expresses appreciation of the fans
Encourages his players. Does not growl, posture and gesticulate at them.
Shakes their hand when they leave the field after being subbed
Asks senior players for their opinion - Jack Lester

I think TW and JS are bound to share some of the same beliefs and philosophies. JS was not all bad.

I am certain that TW is his own man and is trying to bridge the squad issues. The challenge is that we have committed to player contracts now. TW will have to work mostly with what he already has and try for loans or free agents
