If players want to shake the oppositions hands they should leave it to after the game, like they've done for decades
The only ridiculous thing is this unwanted pre-match ritual

However, In my opinion the one who really should be brought to book is Ji-Sung Park, As a captain of his team he should have shook hands with the opposition captain regardless of whether it was John Terry or not. He broke a time honoured tradition there that isn't about individuals its about representing the club its supporters and the game of football.

I think that the hand shaking should be left until the end,it pees me off its just a waste of time.Let the players just acknowledge their fans as they used to do,we ae the ones that count and help to pay their wages.

Yeah, they all spend the whole game cheating, diving and trying to get each other sent off.. why even bother in the first place?
Spot on. It actually annoys me that these guys (sorry to whoever it was that hated this term on the annoying things thread) behave like petulant teenagers when it comes to shaking the hands of a fellow professional. If it's not actually going to be taken in the spirit that it is intended then it is best to ditch it in my view.
