Not shaking the hand of Terry- Childish but you can understand it. Not shaking the hand of Cole - Rediculous and shows what a Dick the man is

Who was it saying they didnt understand the unfair criticism of footballers compared to other sports? Well there you have it.
A new hope.

If players want to shake the oppositions hands they should leave it to after the game, like they've done for decades

The only ridiculous thing is this unwanted pre-match ritual

Exactly! A la Danny Welbeck; that was a graceful fall....slight drag of the heel and cushioned collapse; what a wakner!

Lets go back to the good old days, where both teams run out seperately, and do away with nonsensical hand shakes that mean nothing!

This shaking hands is causing more grief before a game and highlighting potential hotspots, it's doing the reverse of what it actually stands for. My opinion Ferdinand should be fined for that yesterday by the FA.

I totally agree the pre match handshake is farcical and should be done away with, it is the fa's poor attempt at taking a leaf from rugby union and forcing it into football.

However, In my opinion the one who really should be brought to book is Ji-Sung Park, As a captain of his team he should have shook hands with the opposition captain regardless of whether it was John Terry or not. He broke a time honoured tradition there that isn't about individuals its about representing the club its supporters and the game of football.

I think that the hand shaking should be left until the end,it pees me off its just a waste of time.Let the players just acknowledge their fans as they used to do,we ae the ones that count and help to pay their wages.

Spot on. It actually annoys me that these guys (sorry to whoever it was that hated this term on the annoying things thread) behave like petulant teenagers when it comes to shaking the hands of a fellow professional. If it's not actually going to be taken in the spirit that it is intended then it is best to ditch it in my view.

Can someone explain to me why Ferdinand hasn't been charged for his confessed foul and abusive language?
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!
