Come on. 36 more needed lads.

Timely knock from Khawaja, after a largely disappointing season.

Big 6 from Whiteley. Surely........??

As though I needed an extra excuse for an extra beer or two on a Friday

Well Done Derbyshire

Unlucky Yorkshire

Even Bob 'The Misery' Willis is now referring to us as 'Derbyshire' compared to calling us 'Derby' the previous three days

Brilliant performance by Derbyshire this season. Tough choice to try and go forward with local lads etc and been rewarded quicker than they could have imagined!! I've played against some of those lads in the last couple of years in the local league and great to see them going on to do this!!

I have the biggest grin on my face in the office. The minnows of the league, in a league of Kent Essex Hampshire Yorkshire even Leicestershire to an extent are crowned Champions. Get in Derbyshire. Tuesday night should be a belter now.

Phew! What a relief. Too many Friday's biting finger nails hoping we can hold out for a draw. Back to work now..

Tremendous performance from the players - none of whom are household names outside the county. Hopefully Martin Guptill is chuffed as he's had a massive part to play with our early season form and since his return back to the NZ test side, it is obvious he has been missed.

However, Karl Krikken has clearly got the coaching set up right and with Madsen, they have got them playing as a team which is best demonstrated in the number of draws which two years ago would have been defeats.

Champions - they deserve it!

I'm over the bleedin moon. So proud of the lads, Krikks and everyone else involved.

Done the correct way as well IMO with the emphasis on players FROM Derbyshire.

Obviously need to strengthen the squad for next term to stay up there, but with a little bit of insightful recruitment, with the core we have, and the togetherness and spirit we've seen this season, then no reason to think we'll be whipping boys.

'ARE YOU WATCHING, ARE YOU WATCHING, ARE YOU WATCHING NICHOLAS? ARE YOU WATCHING NICHOLAS?'

Ah well Mark, maybe next year for your Hampshire bottlers.

For anyone that saw me on TV in wish to make it known that the cameras add a few pounds (and remove some of your hair).

Quite a few familiar faces on Sky's coverage today, Tim: you were the one with the knitting - right?

Seriously though, a fantastic afternoon to cap a fantastic season - and what a way to finish it!

I'd hope we'll hear a few choruses of 'Derbyshire' at our game tomorrow...and is it just me, but was there far more emphasis on the county rather than the city name on today's commentary?

Maybe a few well aimed e-mails had the required effect.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people
