SSN will no doubt be at Cardiff when it happens and be back to Derby to speak to Krikken, Madsen et al. I'll be there in for the start in the morning - looking forward to it.

Every reason to now Westbars. Hopefully there is a good turnout.

Have a good day - I think we'll now end up top with the pressure off.

Not quite like Town getting promoted but very pleasant nonetheless. I'll crack a can or two tonight.

Special congratulations to KK - he's Derbyshire through and through and this team clearly responds to him.

I really hope they beat Yorkshire tomorrow for him.

After tomorrow his job is to work on how we stay up.

I do notice it tends to be Colville and Bob Willis who are the main folk doing it...and to be honest when it comes to those two its one of the less irritating things about them both!!

By the way Chris you may be interested in this little twitter conversation i had with Rob Staton of Radio Sheffield yesterday...at least he is going to acknowledge our success this season :-

Rob Staton ‏@robstaton
Yorkshire on course for promotion in the cricket. Essex just bowled out for 177, Yorks lead by 135. Instant return to D1 inevitable it seems

Jon Branson Jon Branson ‏@jonbranson
@robstaton No doubt Radio Sheffield will be crowing about that whilst failing to mention Derbyshire at all again!! ;-)

Rob Staton Rob Staton ‏@robstaton
@jonbranson Hey I get on very well with Derbyshire. Already got a few things lined up for our Break show if/when they go up to.

Paul Allott's a regular sinner too, Jon.

Good to see you giving RS (Rob Staton and Radio Sheffield) a gentle prod, but i reckon we'll always be bottom of the list whether it's Town or Derbyshire.

By the way, today's the second time i've 'watched' DCCC achieve summat via ceefax (B&H Cup '93)!

Jon or Staton?

Seriously though Tim, i'm almost tempted to sign up to Twitter myself if it's in such a good cause.

Well, almost.

PS: enjoy tomorrow. Would've made one myself but for work commitments.

The frustrating thing about today was Derbyshire achieved promotion when play had ended for the day at Derby so we were unable to celebrate properly.

Taking the title tomorrow to leave the puddings in second place will be compensation enough though!!

I take the view Derbyshire have achieved promotion similar to the way we won the title two years ago. A good points lead wittled away to fall over

the line rather than stride over it

I'd just like to point out that Yorkshire haven't lost a County Championship game this season, plenty of frustrating lousy weather affected draws though!!!! And like I've said many times on this thread Derbys can have the title willingly as long as we follow you up. What does make it sweeter is the fact that the Lankies have done exactly what we did by winning the title one year and screwing it up completely the following year and getting relegated. (Any comparisons with Town last season are purely by accident!)

A phenomenal achievement considering the finances of the club compared to our rivals.
If only....

Should be a shoe-in.

An Essex cast off who's become a tremendously effective opening bowler and very decent lower order batsman. They'd love him back no doubt.

Wainwright could run him close....Yorkshire cast off who has taken plenty of wickets and scored runs to.

Derbyshire's Player of the Year has already been awarded and yes it's gone to Tony Palladino, the trophy was presented at lunch yesterday

Stop moaning about the weather, as it turns out this weather and loosing half a days play at derby might well have won you the championship. And you will still only be on the same games won total off little Derbyshire. Agree about lancs though maybe them Hampshire Essex and Kent will give up their county status now ;)

Typical Yorkie, always moaning, life's never dull in Yorkshire, it's bland and bitter.

On a more pressing topic, that was a disappointing drop from Borrington, but we hit back immediately with a run out!!

Do me a favour if you can keep updating that would be good as the ECB app is not updating (fitting for the ECB to be honest) and I'm hard at work
