Its all got rather interesting whilst i've been away for my lunch....Derbyshire take 4 wickets whilst Hampshire are in the process of adding 159 runs for the last wicket having looked dead and buried! That said they still need 136 which will take some getting!!

Just started raining here - only spitting but we are about 10 miles from Northants County Ground.

I think the lunch break could do for Hants (I hope).

Already their record 10th wicket partnership and if they were to get the runs it would be just under the record 10th wicket.

Strange day...

Thankfully Leics have broken the last partnership of 168 to beat Hants.

However it is grey, spitting with rain and generally not looking good down here in the Southern Shires..

Looking at http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ the shower should move over and then there is a break until the next lot if it heads that way.

It is a bit brighter now - should be for a while. However this stand needs shifting to make it interesting.

Draw written all over it now, however from staring at defeat to going for the win, it's a great season for Derbyshire fans!!

Yep....draw was always favourite and had it been offered when we were 180 odd for 6 i think most of us would have taken it. Shows how far we've come this season however that we actually got to a point where a win was even possible....and Hampshire lost!! :)

Isn't it 9 points if we draw? Which would be 6 more than Hants and put us 30 points clear of third place?

21.2.3 In a drawn match, each side to score 3 points, plus any points scored in the first innings (see also paragraph 21.1.6).

So we'll get 3 points for the draw, 2 for bowling and 4 i think for batting so 9 is right and right again in that Hampshire only picked up 3 for bowling Leicestershire out first time around.

Cricinfo has a table here that appears to have updated so far with the bonus points from the two games today. Our additional 3 draw points will see us 17 clear of Hampshire with a game in hand but still to play them last off. We'll be 30 clear of Yakshire and 36 clear of Kent but have to travel to Canterbury to play them yet.

So it all starts again this morning chaps.

Tomorrow looks a wash out and showers on Thursday so a draw with Essex I would imagine is a fair odds on - I would imagine it would be a very good toss to win. Kent are at Leicester needing to win but the same weather forecast as Derby applies so I would imagine much of the same.

However, Yorkshire hosting Glos at Scarborough which usually means runs galore and they have the best of the weather so they should get a result in.

Could be tight come end of the week.

At runs galore Scarborough....Gloucestershire have won the toss, batted and rattled on to 16-4!!

Early wicket for Derbyshire though.

I did laugh to myself when it was 9-4.

Hopefully the next two can rattle off a double century partnership to restore some order to a already mad day!

I notice Masters is playing for Essex - he has been injured for a while but is still a good player if it is seaming.
