I reckon you could make a pretty good side out of just fat guys. The "Fat Man's XI" if you would.

Patel definitely gets in, Kleinveldt as well I'd say.

Levi at Northants is definitely in. Remember that Bermudan fella, Leverock or something? He's in.

That slip fielder who played for some obscure country who took that rate catch against India, think he was a pretty big fella.

That's Dwayne Leverock as mentioned above.

Suspect i was one of a small number to get a game of cricket in on Saturday and a smaller number involved in a win...sadly some of that small number was Allestree in our division and its now looking harder for us to get promoted for the second year in a row unless it lamps it down this saturday as well!!

Good of Chesterfield CC to send a team that had we started on time would have just been 9 young lads and only had 11 due to two of their 3rd team turning up as they got called off in there YDCL game earlier in the afternoon. Throw in their first team well in the relegation mix from the Prem and the towns "big team" seems to be struggling currently.

Don't think there was any play in our division at all on Saturday. And that our season done now. only finished 12 games...

It will be Allestree's second in a row if they go up as well wont it. Looks a good little battle.

Top 3 in 4N are the three that came up from 5N last year. We won it, meadows finished 2nd and allestree sneaked up in 3rd due to gaps from teams pulling out/moving around.

He hasn't got past 30 in the 4 games of last season and this season somehow when you look at his other scores. Cunningly I've only played in 1 of those 4 games!

He seems to be scoring runs for fun this year! Watched his 199* at QP earlier this year when we didn't have a game.

Has scored a complete bucketload these last two years after doing not a lot until 3 or 4 years ago. Not sure whats changed with his game but 4 years ago it looks like he was batting in the lower middle order for their 2nds. The one game i played against him at their place last season i caught him at mid wicket and it was a good job i got my hands to it or it would have taken my teeth out! Be interesting to see if any bigger clubs higher up try and sign him and if they do how he goes. Their team seems to be built around 4 or 5 folk that do the bulk of the batting and bowling and not sure how far you can go with that but good luck to them.

I'd be very surprised to see him move away from Allestree.

But yes, see what you mean about it being reliant on only a few players.

If i'm honest i think Meadows are the better all round team out of the three at the top but they seem to have been hit worst in terms of weather affected games. That said no one has won more games outright than we have. Does look like the third promotion spot from 4 will go to second place in 4S mind you as it stands so its winner takes all in 4N barring a DCCL winter reshuffle.
