Decent start. Two wickets in the first hour after losing the toss. Don't think Lyth liked his decision though.

Guna head down Sunday i think. May try and get Friday too as i have nothing on at the moment.

I know the tickets are cheaper booked in advance but is there not a code for season ticket holders to enter to get more of a discount? I know there was for the t20's i went too at Derby last month

Just let me know and you can come in on my season ticket

Must have chucked it down last night.

Shame but at least the sport on offer the next few days is decent with the Test, Golf, Tour..

Yep. Home for my lunch from work and it's going to be hard to drag myself back as I currently flick between those three.

An early wicket to expose Bopara was always likely to make it happen. Personally i wouldnt have Bopara anywhere near the test side...had nearly as many chances as Ramprakash and done about as well!! At times it appears we pick him cos he bowls a bit which is the wrong way to go about it.

I was genuinely just about to post some drivel to the effect that Bopara never has been a test player other than in his, Ronnie Irani and Graham Gooch's mind.

Surely they should pick one of the other England Lions with a view to the future?

Got to agree Bopara doesn't really seem to have done much despite having many chances.

I was interested so looked up his stats on Cricinfo and was genuinely surprised to see him averaging just over 30 in 18 innings. Its only when you look a bit closer do you find that he's scored 355 of his 533 test runs in three innings v the rammel Windies side in 2009 so he's actually managed 178 runs in the other 15 innings with a top score of 44 not out v India last summer at an average of 12.71!!

I sometimes wonder if he gets picked because he bowls a bit as well....although that is garbage as well in terms of test standard!!

Glad to hear it. A few foreigners in town too presumably. Not there unfortunately, was there Wednesday and with playing yesterday it was always an afternoon out too far.

Looks about a par score but think we've gone in a batsman light again. If you're going to get eight overs out of The Durst it's not necessary either. Presumably they want to give young Hughes ago but I'd have picked big Hughes.
