My first target was met with a resounding maybe and a confirmation he was likely to be wanting to move on anyway.

Won't be as easy with random names from play cricket and Facebook/Twitter searches but it'll be interesting.

Anyone remember the top wicket on Brearley Park Old Whittington?

The bottom boundary edge of the pitch was up to the present wickets boundary edge

I played for Sheepbridge against Richland Wanderers on Stand Road Park. It was a horrible experience and they didn't play on there again after that season (2006?)

Played a midweek game in Somersall Park once. Played once on Stand Rd for the Barbs in a cup game, wasn't allowed to bowl as the wicket was that bad. Old AGD ground at Ducky Lodge has gone as well

A good read, brought back some memories. I had many happy years playing at Cylinders and many good after game nights.
Going to work on my fitness ready for one last game next season

Just bought a Derbyshire Times, browsing through the sport section, I noticed a caption saying The Chesterfield players celebrate the cup and league double....

It's a photo of Yorkshire CCC celebrating winning the title....

I despair.

Do newspapers still have proof readers?

If so the DT one obviously knows nothing about cricket :windup

To pass off a picture of the Yorkshire puddings as a local cricket team is quite staggering

What makes it even worse is that they don't put Hundall in there ;)

May not be such an issue for me by the end of the month, as if they decide to go to one Saturday side then I'll be off to pastures new.

Is that illegal in actual law or Barlow law?

Take it that's Tim Barlow you mean? I used to work at the same place as him when i was in Sheff. Played at Cutthorpe quite a few times myself but can't remember if we were ever on opposing sides.

That is true re Saltergate now playing at Wingerworth as Wingerworth S CC (name change 2003)

Grounds to add to the list

Oxcroft

Biwater

Stonebroom

Dema (whitmoor) played at Chesterfield school

Saltergate played their 1st game (as DCC CC) In the works league at Langer Lane (colleges Ground)

Coalite

Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.
