quality player (morgan) but I personally got it wrong on here recently it seems sticking up for him. i made my submissions on that post that i did regret my support for him and felt a bit disappointed to be honest.

I would like him here and winning fans over with 10+ goals and 15+ assists in that division. he is capable of it at a canter. but has maybe talked or acted his way out of the opportunity. And i cant help but feel more disappointment in him than i do with myself for that.

Big fan of his abilities....always will be. but it cant come at a cost.

He is a very capable footballer mate. But he is a mard a:se arrogant lazy idiot aswell. That's why I wouldn't want him here again he just causes too many problems and this has also come from other Cfc staff members.

Just wanted to throw one up for debate regarding the 2 DM's who in different ways have been cast aside this season. Barring a minor miracle we are in league 2 next season. On the evidence of last season we know both are more than capable of having significant impact in league 2, so was it premature to release Dwayne (given we were up against it from November to beat the drop) and does JS have to swallow some pride and get Morgan back on side for next season. Morgan's level probably is league 2 on evidence of last 2 seasons. As i say one for debate, obviously Mattis isn't coming back but Morgan... well i'd be tempted to offer another year. (don't think he will though)

Morgan will never wear a town shirt again, not a cat in hells chance of that, never mind a contract

I've no idea what went wrong with Mattis but he look shot when I saw him this season. .......

..... well, I had a little private 'ooops' when he gave away the first goal in our thumping at Oldham. A midfielder in our division does not pass the ball inside, just outside his own penalty area, to a colleague who ain't expecting it, in the first few minutes of the game. A basic mistake that led to humiliation for Les and possibly (just a guess) caused a major row in the dressing room.

The Mattis fall from grace was quite remarkable - from Title Winning Captain, regular Centre Back / Centre Mid to being shipped out to Macc in about half a season. Can't remember anything quite like it.....even Jason Lee took slightly longer to devalue....!

Why does this silly debate go on about who can get us out of league 2, we have done it once with the just players who can get us out and look where it got us straight back down, forward thinking this time, players that can get us up and then keep us there till we can regroup again

Good point we need to get rid of the dead wood and buid a team that can bounce back to league 1 and stop there, this season we have had to many league 2 players. Not enough quality throu the team players not playing in their best positions not enough strength in midfield and defence.
Major rebuilding needed at least 8 players and loads getting rid of if we are to bounce back.

Don't think it was so much of a Mattis fall from grace but of a Mattis hardly fit enough since early 2011 - he struggled for fitness in the second half of our promotion season which is why Holden moved to CB

Luton, at a guess? I wish the man no misfortune but I'd be surprised if he gets a league club, tbh. Looking at the Conference, there's Braintree - no irony intended - or Woking, if they come up.

massive yes to Morgan - Morgan in Sheridan out. he will be awesome in league 2.

JS should swallow his pride and think for the club - not for himself - Morgan is a quality player and how JS can make a judgement on what makes a successful team at the moment is beyond me.

This isn't intended as a dig at Matthis, as i genuinely liked him, but our leaky defence seemed to bolster up once Holden took up the CB post.

I dont think Mattis recovered fully from his injury, Morgan - well documented that his attitude and application are the problem, not his god given ability, and if he thinks he has the right attitude, its everyone else then we are well rid of him

I would say Trotman is a better defender than either of thise 2 who left earlier in the year.
A new hope.

He hasnt been awesome for Oxford, and thats his 13th manager - have all of them been wrong, and the mighty Dean Morgan right all along?

JS/CFC have made many mistakes this season, but releasing Morgan isnt one of them.

They all must have seen something and once JS had had enough of hearing the truth it did not take long for Morgan to be snapped up. Dont think they'll be banging on our door when the likes of Whitaker and Mendy get offloaded.

 But lets face it we brought Mattis in to strenghten the midfield.Did his best to dig us out in the back four situation and for a time it worked but never as good as when we did the same with Evatt.
Many a good tune

no - but I know what I see - and what I see is a very talented footballer who in my opinion is a better left winger than Mendy, Ajose, Lowry,Whittaker, Ridehalgh,Bowery, Boden,Westcarr,

he has never had a run in the side and he has been asked to play up top with Jack because as we have said 15 thousand times WE HAVEN'T SIGNED A STRIKER.

if we'd kept Davies - or signed a replacement Morgan would have been a key player.

JS gets paid to manage these players but isn't able to manage Morgan - the easy/lazy analysis is to blame Morgan for that.
