Id just like to say today was an absolute brilliant performance all round. Well played lads very very unlucky tho played your arses off! Atmosphere second half absolutely electric well done people! I think promotion is out of our reach now but hopefully the boys can prove me wrong! Play like that next week and we will stuff Rotherham!! Come on boys im 100% behind you!!

100% agree. To say Southend are top, Chesterfield played really really well. The decisions made by the ref were totally unjustified, but the Spireites didn't let it beat them.
Its difficult playing a team of 11 plus the ref but they did us proud!!
Carry on with that performance and they'll get the benefits!

Yes but we were playing a top of the league side. It was a good performance considering that fact. Then the ref was on their side too, so we played well considering everything went against us.
We could have lost by a bigger margin than one goal!

I agree, the referee was poor - but it wasnt him, it was our defenders, who allowed eastwood to run with the ball right across the face of goal before scoring with a poxy deflection for their second goal! Do they not practice tackling!

I think they were aware that the ref would give a free kick or a pen if they tried to tackle, so they were hoping to force him wide. It must be said that their goals all had a huge element of luck.
