Just got back from Bury. An easy 3 points were there for the taking. First half was encouraging with some good attacking moves and chances to score.
Second half totally unacceptable and crying out for some leadership from the management. From our vantage point behind the goal - which was absolutely shocking, it was obvious that Bury had decided to play on Thompson at right back. Poor lad struggled all night being out of position and exposed to 1v1 defending against a speedy winger.

Why Sheridan did not see this and change it one will never know! Mendy faded badly and needed subbing and the natural shifts of Lowry to right back, Wescarr to left midfield and Whits to central midfield would have sorted it for us and stemmed their tide.

We were awful second half and just waited for them to score. For me this was Sherdian's cock up which could easily have been 3 points in the bag. Sad old place Bury with little support and heartless fans.

I thought we comfortable until the last 20 mins, when they stepped it up a gear and mullered us

Agree about Gigg Lane

Pitiful attendance, less than 2,000 home fans. Yet they have a manager, team and game plan that has surpassed us by miles this season. Surprised by 2,500 at Oldham, must be one of their all time lows

First time I'd been to gigg lane, reminded me so much of saltergate - just a revamped version and not hemmed in by houses like our old ground was. The turnstiles were similar, the toilets were like indoor versions, the main stand has a similar sort of design, and gigg lane is on the whole looks past it's best, Bury have absolutely no need to move though as they just don't have the fan base and their current home is already an all seater.

I went years ago when you could walk all the way round to the other side at HT and Town fans lit a fire under one of the wooden stands to keep warm. Long before the Bradford disaster, I hasten to add.

I could agree to an extent with the Boden sub, it gave us another player to hold the ball up up front, but agree with the Mendy comment. Yes he had a good game but tired. A points not the end of the world, not yet anyway

well i actually agree with your opening sentiments but playing the hapless whittiker in central midfield away from home is suicide, also jamie lowry hasnt played at right back for over 4 years and playing him where he excelled at crewe in the centre would have been fine, mendy should have been played on the right and replaced by westcarr who is best at right midfield, not the left midfield that you advocated,he is right footed and likes to get round the back of fullbacks something he cannot do on the left.As for thompson you are correct, drew should have played right back and thommo central alongside trotters

Fair comments Mr Bonnyman - central midfield continues to be an issue when we require workrate and players to get hold of the ball and release pressure!!

Looking forwards to the next team selection!!
