Doesn't appear to stop you doing them...

I'm on the half 8 train down so probably won't bother til we get there but will celebrate/commiserate afterwards.

I assumed we were on that train but we've gone for the earlier one, will let you know what pub is the place to be for when you get there

The problem is with early drinking, I find, is that you drink far more than planned.

I can see it now, 'I'll just take four cans for the train', will become those being supped by Market Harborough, a couple more bought and two more 'just for the road' at St Pancras. Before you know it you're a gallon down before 11am and it's a slipperly slope!

yep, can easily be on double figures well before the game which is not good - I do want to see the game

Drinking then would be tempting but ultimately stupid.

We're OK as we have a Saturday night in the smoke to get spannered. Think we're going to head out to Kingsbury Sunday AM.

Im currently torn between Kingsbury & Kilburn, both are spot on, Kingsbury has that large withys and that other decent sized pub next door but one, Kilburn has the North London Tavern and several others, not quite sure which one to go for??? Decisions, decisions!

We regularly use Kingsbury Wetherspoons for England games, ideal for a stop off from stanmore, but awkward for a 2pm ko

Mr M, can I just enquire why it is awkward for a 2pm KO, as I recall its only 5 mins on tube??? Is there some reason? Cheers.

We're staying in Kentish Town so Kilburn would be convenient for us actually.

Think we will be going for Kilburn in the end as its south on Jubilee line from Wembley and a few others we are meeting are coming in from central london so Kilburn will prob do the trick...... plus we did kilburn in 95'... lucky omen :-)

I failed to say for a meal with the kids etc, also want to soak up a bit of the pre match atmosphere around Wembley. But other than that it's idea, unless of course there's a last minute hitch on the jubilee line

Cheers Mate, funny you should mention the hitch on the jubilee line, when I used Kingsbury for hotel & beer region for AC/DC gig at wembley in June 2009, the jubilee line was totally out, luckily they laid on double deckers from Kingsbury to Wembley every five minutes which only took a couple of minutes anyway.
