Give over man. Joe Hart would walk into most national teams. He along with Rooney and Gerrard are our only true world class players IMO.

The problems lie elsewhere. Mainly the grassroots game.

same as greece/denmark did. play to your strengths- IMO organised defesively strong back to the wall, counter attack, defensive gutsy football based on playing the %. Think the Old trafford semi final.

Play for corners free kicks long throwins to get 1 goal, or 1 goal on the counter then a resolutses battling display to keep em out.

Try to ppay the `eurogame` and we will do what we always do - reach the 1/4 final at best and lose to the first good side we meet.

He's also somebody who it is extremely easy to dislike, which is the same for far too many England players for one reason or another.

My sentiments exactly, impose a English game on them and at least were playing our game and not theirs.
"one day, we shall return" (edit - and so we did).

Bring Griffiths, Randall and Smalley into the England squad and it's a done deal.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

So, play like we did against Spain in the friendly?

England have never won a knockout match against a major football nation in either a WC or EC outside Wembley. The idea that we can suddenly string 2 or 3 of these results together to win a tournament is fanciful.

To address this we need a totally different football culture which invests in the long term infrastructure of the game to enable us to produce enough young lads who can play football properly. As long as the Premier League hoovers up all the cash whilst schoolkids play on dire pitches without proper facilities and coaching nothing will get better.

If you go to even the smallest town in places like Germany and Holland you will see publicly available sporting facilities that are far superior to what many professional clubs in the UK have.

And to follow up re coaching, countries like Germany and Spain have 8-10 times more Uefa qualified coaches than we have. This is being addressed but progress is slow.
