Randall is an excellent midfielder and just the sort of player we'll need if we're to progress. With the right set-up alongside him in midfield he'll be a class above what we've got at the moment.
Unfortunately he's already being judged on the basis that RPL rates him - so the knee-jerk reaction is against him. This is stupid - judge him on his merits when he gets an extended spell in the side. Which may not be this season since we're now in a position where we've got to win ugly.

Or some may rate him on his career path and the one directional path it seems to have gone.

Started as a highly rated youngster at one of Europes finest footballing 'schools'.

Went on loan to a Champ and had reasonable press.

Went on loan to a L1 side and had average press.

Went on loan to a L2 side and had negative press including 'failure to show'.

Transferred free to a L1 side and......

A one way path that started at the very top and has withered its way slowly to where it is now.

So maybe people are judging him with its own merits rather than your own perceived theory.
"one day, we shall return" (edit - and so we did).

Agreed :D Brother talks sense! I for one would never judge a player for being popular with RPL!?!? If anything, it's nice that he has a player he can talk positively about! However, Randall has seemingly vanished for whatever reason and though he has shown a good touch and the ability to pick out a pass, his career is drifting into oblivion.

I think in the case of Randall I'll refer back to the answer used by countless posters on here, we don't see him in training, we don't know him on a day to day basis etc.

Looks a talented player but lightwieght. I can't comment on his attitude, but the antics at Rotherham (if true) don't bode well. I really hope he isn't a big time Charlie.

If you were at Orient, you would know that Juan was the best player on the pitch. You should be excited about the prospect of having him in centre mid full time when he's fit again

Indeed, i'm salivating for his return. Its ok signing a good player........but if he doesn't play.......?
When he's fit again being the operative phrase!

I don't see why folk have to take a pop at Juan for being injured, and given how few games he's actually played for us so far it's a bit early to judge whether or not he was a good signing.

I'm going to give in to the temptation to ask, 'Since Jack has missed quite a few games this season, does that mean he's contributed little or nothing this season? Does it mean he's no longer a good player?' Or do we accept that his injury was just one of those things and celebrate the fact that he's now playing again and, once he gets full match fitness back, will start to work the old Lester magic? My point is that I don't recall anyone criticising him while he was recovering from his broken arm ...

 If we are to get some results between now and the end of the season to ensure survival in this league we are going to have to battle like we did at Oldham in the JPT.Every game is going to be our "cup final" and we need player on the pitch who are willing to "bleed" for the cause. Not sure yet if JJ fits in with that.

he hasn't been injured for that long, look at Downes and Lowry, they were both injured for more than a whole season!

 Seen him play.No doubt has ability,we have seen flashes, but games against the top sides will need grafters and he doesn't seem to be in that catergory.

played twice for us, at orient he was a breath of fresh air charging about the pitch, winning tackles, intercepting passes and going forward.

missed his game at oldham but if he plays like he did at orient then i believe you will be proved wrong my friend.

 50/50 then.Totally outshone by Davies in Oldham game, wanted far too much time on the ball and got caught in possession. Will be ok when we can dominate games and can dictate but don't see our squad being in that position for some while yet.

Errrr

Probably put in more effort and mileage than anyone else on the pitch against Orient. Was brilliant.

He has played 2 games, one of which he was average in a side that won and one of which he was MOTM (by a country mile) in one that drew. He has had one injury. We don't know if he is "injury prone" or not. Why you getting on his back?
