genuinely feel sorry for the guy ,having suffered personally myself with bad knees,
there is only so much hammer they can take when it,s time to say no more
he as lived part of every young mans to play professional football,
probably time to take stock on life and persue other dreams whilst still young enough
australian football is growing so maybe a coaching role with kids/yongsters maybe a way forward for downesy
best of luck in future and thanks for the memories

Sadly his CFC playing career is coming to an end.

Given John Croot's position & finances allowing, I'd offer Aaron a full time senior role in the Community Trust. His personality, attitude and level headed approach would be ideally suited to developing & reinforcing our community links as well as promoting the CFC / B2NET brand.

I'm not sure what plans Aaron has, but he's a good bloke and would make a good addition to the Community Trust.

I'd love to see Aaron in a non-playing capacity at the club upon his retirement from the game (whenever that will be)
If only....

talking to him last night , a really nice guy he is , he says it's a minor problem , should be playing in 6-8 weeks , looks well - not hobbling !

Not retired, just mindful of his options away from CFC. I'd be amazed if a move to Bristol is up for consideration.

You have to be realistic though. " very bad injuries on the same knee will have taken its toll. Be that a yard of oace or slow on the turn etc. A role like you suggested with playing part time for Alfreton/Matlock/Buxton etc might be the best.
A new hope.
