I wouldn't quite go that far, but equally I don't see them as favourites either based on last nights showing. They look organised and passed the ball decently enough, but lacked any real penetrative edge against a very ordinary Barnet side and we can't say what they can defend like as Barnet never tested them.
I've got the game down as a good battle and I honestly can't pick a winner. They've got match winners and so have we. It'll more than likely either be won by the team with the strongest midfield or a costly mistake.
The down side for us is that three of our key players can't play because they're cup tied, and that's before possible injuries; I'm not making excuses, whatever side we put out they will know they're in a match, but predicting the result?? I'll just see how it goes on the day.

Its the midfield bit that worries Rpl, the costliest mistake bit probably worries us all!..

If you can nulify the all action winger you're well on your way.Did you notice the ex miller at full back, he's got to be targeted.

what like carlisle were in for a shock on saturday.
I'm sure last season we'd have thought we could beat most teams at the foot of league one. I fully understand why they are favourites.
Depends how we do between now and then, if we win some of the hard games we've got coming up then we'll stand a good chance, but if we return to the type of performances at carlisle then we may be relying on lady luck once again.

They're an extremely fit and organised outfit - DiCanio has them training twice a day - playing with the confidence born of a long, consistent, and successful run of form. Fair enough they only beat a pile of cack one-nil, however the gulf in class between the two sides was palpably obvious. I'm not sure about how their budget compares to our's (though having Clarke on a reported six grand per week wage suggests it's at least as large) but one thing's for sure: their Italian manager is making good use of it and they look every inch the promotion candidates they are.
Infact they reminded me of us around a year ago.
As for ourselves? Well whilst some might adopt a positive stance the jury's still out on whether the recent mini-revival was just a brief spasm or something more long term. What's more whilst there's no doubt the youngsters signed in January brought a new zest with them it remains to be seen how they fare against top seven teams. Or how they respond to setbacks.
Obviously things may change before the twenty fifth of March, but here, now, today, this is a clash between a struggling, relegation threatened club with only five league wins all season and one who're looking a good bet to replace them in League one. It's no surprise that Swindon a favourites, infact probably strong favourites. Fortunately, though, Wembley has provided a graveyard for favourites on more than one occasion.

Sorry to ask this but is Hurst cup tied by any chance? I hate picking on people but , what the hell....I was close to him for the second half of the Bournmouth game. The poor lad had a nightmare period of ten to fifteen minutes (against an admittedly very good winger ) "Whats happening? " Where am I ?" "What day is it ?" I think the answer is in my last sentence. He looks like a man but..... he's just a lad . I felt quite sorry for him actually. But really we're not where we are just because of him. He's just a current easy target. And we love them !
