Only seen it on the football league show, but to me it looked a stonewall penalty.

I honestly don't think it comes into the 'stonewall', blatant category. The defender has his back to the ball and the ball hits the arm he has put out to break his fall. Some people might say his arm is out so it's deliberate. It's very much one of those that would be given to a home team 'cos the linesman would be affected by fans' protestations.

I do, hence why I have been able to give precise, accurate analysations of his performances in the past. I know exactly how he plays and exactly what his role in the team is which is why I don't criticise him for not scoring enough/getting enough assists/not belting shots in from 45 yards for the fun of it.

I cannot be sure the ref had a good view as the player had his back to him but the lino like Sheridan said was 10 yards or so away,i know i criticise officials but the only opinion i can come up with on this lino is that he cheated, for whatever reason you will have to ask him,but how he ran the length of the pitch to get to the changing rooms at the end of both halves has got me very suspicious of him.....

Not sure he did that at half time but definatley did it at full time. He was probably in desperate need of the ablutions because he had probably been crapping himself for the past 40 minutes after that horrendous decision.

I doubt he would gain much sanctuary in the dressing rooms either as I would imagine that the ref would have been on him like a ton of bricks. With the position of the ref at the incident he would have been looking at the lino for a decision, he would eventually realise with the following actions/body language etc that the lino had dropped a b0!!ock and thus dropping him in it big style which will be also reflected in the refs marks

He did it both halves Mick and yes i watched the refs reaction and he was waiting for the lino to say yes handball but it never came.....

Thought he crossed the line today. We were all pessed off with the decision, but balling out the 4th official wasn't gonna change things. and messes things up for the team.. .. Their penalty call looked a dead cert.Don't think i've ever seen an outburst by anyone quite like Shezza. Still, he's the gaffer, and has my/our full support

Good luck to him the bald twot of a linesman was a disgrace, we could have stollen aq point if he had flagged for the blatant penalty. They spoil the game every sodding week,at least the ref did a good job when he booked Phillips for his dive just before their third.

you can watch as much football as you like, but if you cant see what allott brings to the team, ten its te football knowledge you are lacking.

back to the topic - as somebody said on another thread, would you rather he just shrugged his shoulders and not seemed interested about it?

Maybe so but the officials decisions cost games,so why don't we sort out our midfield instead of saying Allott does this Allott does that he is Mr Wonderful bull crap,i cannot see what he brings to our team,we bought Randall in,he has hardly featured, whether he is any good is another question, another thing they will dominate midfield if we keep giving them the ball back when trying to clear our lines from the back all the time....

Keith watch him in a game. He gets the ball and puts it out wide as much as possible. He breaks the game down and allows others in to the game meaning the full backs can get further forward.
admittedly he can't shoot for toffee like Niven but he's a ball player not an attacking Midfielder that you want him to be

Keith, I don't agree.

He loses possession too easily, has no presence, will never win a header, struggles to last beyond 60 minutes, is not creative and very unlikely to have a crack at goal.

The t'internet on my phone is being pooh. Sorry if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but has anyone seen where Sheridan refused to attend the post match press conference and that Chris Powell sympathises with him?

Having looked at it three times on player it looks as though when it struck the defenders hand he was marginally outside the area. Therefore a freekick should have been awarded.

It doesnt matter where the defender is, its where his hand is when the ball hits it. It hit both his hands and both times the ball was in the area. Blatant penalty compounded by the fact the ref gave a worse decision for the free kick that led to their second. That's why Sheridan is angry and quite rightly so.

Those that said it hit his arm must have been watching from the dark side of the moon, how dare dim view say i didn't describe it accurately enough,i was looking straight at it,i could not have been better placed......

Kieth, Allott does a job for the side that is different to the one you want/expect.

In midfield on sat who was up in the air winning/challenging for headers?

Which midfielder is tackling/shadowing the oppostition and taking pressure off the back 4?

When the defenders get the ball, which midfielder is always showing/making himself available to get the ball?

How often now do you see our defenders hoof the ball forward with a hopefull punt into the channels?

Watch him closely Kieth, and watch what he does when we get the ball, he takes it, and tries,on the whole to play the ball wide/forwards but always to a blue shirt.

Our side is generally set up with 2 `holding players, in a way its more like a 4-2-4 than a 4-4-2. The middle 2 are there to protect the bacjk 4 - help cover the wide men when they get forward and help us retain a bit of shape.

They are not there to score 20 yard screamers or advance into the box late to score, or dribble past opposition players in a mesmerising run.

Watch him, watch what he does, not what you want him to do, the manager has not set the side up to play how you expect him to.
A new hope.

But then surely you should be frustrated at Sheridan and not Allott, Keith? Sheridan knows the job her performs too (obviously) and he deems him good enough for the team and picks him every week.
