Having just sat through that dross on Sky I can only say that despite our poor, start, no new centre forward, loss of Sir Jack and all the other issues we have I would still rather watch us trying to play football and laying 2nd bottom than have to suffer that pap served up tonight.

Charlton looked good for 20 minutes and then they got dragged into the same aimless long ball tripe of the Wimbledon and Dave Bassett Sheffield Urinals days.

Thank god for Shezza and our beloved Blues we will turn it around and we will beat both Sheffield clubs. United are in a false position as are we. The goals Bury gave them on Saturday were awful and looked like us at MK Dons.Older more measured Blades know they are having a run but the luck will turn and they are not the force some of the Football Heaven numptys would have us believe.

Get some perspective chaps if that was two of the favourites for promotion then we are still in the hunt it was a terrible advert but made me feel better in a perverse sort of way.

Keep the faith a 10 game unbeaten run is possible and we will be on the fringe of the play-off positions by Christmas. Stop the moaning and look at the positives from Saturday. Doubled our points tally and a clean sheet. Stop worrying for lords sake.

I'd rather be 9th right now.

But I agree neither side looked great.

 If we had started the season professionally with a full squad fit enough to establish itself in Div1 I would agree with your sentiments. But at present we are next to bottom without a full squad and add to that Jacks unjury, worrying?Yes I'm worrying.

Can't help feeling we are being tested but we will come through and have a good season. The Addicks and the Owls showed this division is not the minefield we have made it look like.

We could and should have had a point vs Tranmere. Although we waited very late we could and should have beaten Stevenage despite their horrible antics. Preston looked a class act and the MK Dons, well we defended appallingly nuff said even then at 1-1 3-2 we looked likely to go on and get something. The Exeter game was in the balance, Westcarr missed a sitter and Scotty went very close, whoever scored the second would win, they did, we didn't and Saturday well lets face it we just needed a break, two almighty scrambles, Jacks miss, Westcarr's free kick, Mendy's early breakaway, we had enough chances just the run of the ball is not with us just now.

I would love a couple of strikers, Ball from Derby, Kane from Spurs even Leon Clarke or Jon Parkin but the key position for me is that we still lack a genuine hardnosed, chest thumping, mean, SOB of a leader. Bostwick at Stevenage or McGrath at Burton spring to mind. We have lacked a real leader whose also a ball winner for years now. There must be one out there we need a character who by force of will on the pitch will replicate the passion off it.

Suggestions welcome

9th

But this game highlighted to me how far we are away from surviving at this level.

Shef Wednesday are in mid table but lets take a look at their striking options:

1)Ryan Lowe
2)Clinton Morrison
3)Chris O'Grady
4)Gary Maddine

and then lets see what we have got

1)Jordan Bowery
2)Scot Boden

Men against boys - enough said.

A Wednesday fan I know would happily drive Madine and Morrison to their next destination.

Yes we would all like to be 9th. But i think you are being a bit silly, whether on purpose, by accident or maybe to get a response ?

Did you see the game? Was it any good? I saw it and frankly, it was on the whole very poor. Im sure you can name players all day but it doesnt alter the fact that Wednesday look godawful at the minute..as would always happen with megson in charge...

On the performance alone, we were a lot closer than i thought. That is all
