If Mattis is fit he should be able to slot back into midfield as the back four did ok on Saturday baring one or two moments.

Can't remember the last time he actually played in midfield, but would prefer to see him in there rather than Allott (but seriously doubt JS will drop him!)

I would start with the same back four, Mendy Mattis Johnson and Morgan in Midfield with Westcarr and probably Scott Boden up front.

With Jack injured it is now time for Boden to step up to the plate and stop being looked at as a promising youngster. He has plenty of League experience now and needs to push on.

I would have Holden, Whittaker Allott and Bowery on the bench. I do think however Allott will play instead of Johnson if Mattis is picked.

I'll go mad if we change the back four yet again.

Looks a good line up. IMO Holden in for Ford, but otherwise i could live with that if it was the starting line up for sat. Glad you didnt put Allott in there!

It's interesting to see that no one really thinks whittaker and Allott should be in the starting line up?

I think they are too lightweight for this division and are being found out. We need to ensure taht our midfield has attacking capabilities rather than being able to pass the ball sideways thats why I think Morgan and Mattis must be in our starting line up.

It's too early to see Mendy playing up front. for me he drifted out of the game through lack of fitness and to ask him to lead the line is something that I wouldn't do yet.

I think people are being a bit harsh on westcarr also. He's played a couple of games in a side struggling with confidence. Even Jack has only scored once this season and missed our best chance on Saturday. The problem is we don't really have time due to the lack of close season signings (which isn't westcarr's fault).

I think Mendy may give a presence in the air that we lack , I appreciate that he didnt look too fit 2nd half , but no doubt will improve week on week.By all accounts (well asking my notts supporting mate) westcarr is a good crosser of the ball. Make no mistake this is Boden's big chance. he has always seemed to me to be a forward who makes similar runs to jack, and he does think about the game he is in in the same way. I would like to see mattis in midfield as he gives us something if the midfield becomes an arwrestle .

The defence is getting close to being OK withthe inclusion of Grounds, though i rate Holden highly

EDIT: Allott and Whittaker , im not sure as it stands, but i think we need to get the best XI sorted and playing together....

In my opinion Boden stepped upto the plate again MK Dons and became our leading goalscorer in the league, and from what I gather he was one of the better player at Exeter, without managing a goal.

I would have liked to see more of him against Orient, especially given he is a striker by trade and has scored a fair few goals for us previously.

I do think it's Bowery's chance to shine, he has good pace but he needs to start finding the back of the net in the first team.

Heres one (Im prepared for the red points, but Im in NO WAY saying that this is what Id do), but do you think Sheridan would ever try Allott up front? Afterall, he did come as a striker first time around. Just a question.

I WILL REPEAT, THIS ISN'T WHAT I WOULD DO!!

Just realised I missed out what I intended to say first. Yes, Id like to see Mattis back in midfield!

Given that Allott has lots his goalscoring touch altogether I think there's more chance of seeing Holden up front than Allott. Shame what with him being a striker when we signed him previously, plus us having a fair few like for like options in central midfield.

It's a good point given we have a shortage of experienced, goalscoring forwards, but Allott's goal tally since he's been in central midfield speaks for itself.

Drop Allott? I can't believe some of you would even contemplate this. He's the one player we have who is composed on the ball and very rarely gives it away! You can't do much in a game of football if you don't have the ball for God's sake. I guess you would prefer a Niven-type of player who gets stuck in and concedes needless fouls.....largely as a result of him giving the ball away with a useless 'pass' in the first place!!

Given that he's missed last week,he looked ok when he walked up the steps at half time, I'd have him as sub this week.Normally he would be one of my 1st choices.
