If half of the people on here look like christmas trees in town gear, presumably they are therefore proud of their club?

Bit harsh, they support the club but wear club shop stuff.

So you are part of the goup that sings crap songs, wears designer gear, looks for trouble and then hides behind the crowd.

I read shirter as a bit like a scarfer, a term used by casuals on football hooligan web sites for normal fans who don't want to sneak about in Stone Island gear acting like knob heads.
Dancers are considered mad by those who cant hear music.

Shirters is the term Hooligans gave to those real football fans proud to wear their colours when supporting their team and weren't after a scrap - not that those who don't wear colours are (generally).

So what if a fan decides to wear a scarf, shirt, hat, rosette, badge, wristband etc at a game, it shows that they are proud to be a Spireite and proud to support the club further by buying kit from the club shop.

Anyone bemoaning that needs a reality check and before anyone asks, I don't own a scarf, hat, badge, but do have a shirt.

This thread has motivated me to get my promotion 'blue army' top hat out from the back bedroom that the 11 year old me purchased at the end of the 2000-2001 season, I shall now wear it proudly to each and every game i go to  you may call me a hatter
