Im neither a shirter, nor a casual wearer, im just a scruffy jeans and trainers type middle aged tarn fan, I dress like that because I choose to, its what I feel at home, scruffy jeans, scruffy trainers and an old scruffy rock band t-shirt with a scruffy old town fleece to boot.
I suspect this makes me a 'scrufter'??

Bit off the mark that, many of these older lads sing alot better songs from the older days than the ring of fire etc rubbish we sing at home nowadays.

Yes quite bizarre. 3 occasions in the last 2 minutes I've just had a laugh out loud moment sat in the hospital waiting for our lass to part with the nipper. The word 'scruffter' takes me back to being a kid. All we get nowadays is 'scrubber' and 'scruffter' is much preferable. Plus coming from 'Bolser' the cock of the walk comment has just right tickled me too.

Glad to hear something on these boards has cheered someone up :-)
Scrubber is a horrible word, I loathe it, the females in 'Boza' use it frequently and I try and correct them to no avail.
I like to be called a scrufter too, my mates sometimes say "Jamie, you scruffy B*****, you could have made an effort" if we going to a party or a dou or something and when they do I laugh, they just dont get it, many of my mates are younger than me due to local football and such forth, they tend to pansy around inspecting each others 'clobber' and worrying if they look the part, no such problems for me.... everyone knows what im gonna turn up in, they just have a sweepstake on which black shirt I will be wearing :-)

Telling statement? Troll material perhaps? Why sign up to post on the board and then go about insulting people? Very suspicious!
