Same here. I went for a wander round the Saltergate pitch AFTER the last game. I'd never do so during a game. The people who did will need to deal with the consequences.

The playing area is the playing area ...before,during and after a game...that's why i feel both some supporters and the club are guilty of double standards,of course the guy who 'punched' their goalie should and rightly be punished, his acts were vile but why wasn't there a witch hunt for fans who went on the pitch after the Bournemouth game,Luton game,West Ham game,Notts Forest game,Wrexham game i could go on.....i feel a line as to be drawn in the sand. From this date on anyone found on the playing area can expect fine, ban, whatever.

It's the complete dissapointment of the whole unsavoury incident - our club have been headliners all season for the right reasons and received glowing testimonials from the good and great. I'm just gutted for all the hard work that everyone has contributed so far for it to be thrown away by one bloomin act of utter stupidity.
I'd like penny for his thoughts on this and that of his parents - are they spireites as well. Remember the lad who peed on the war memorial in Sheffield, that one stupid act was life changing for him.

If someone is judging the whole club for this moron's actions then their opinion should not be taken seriously.

Wouldn't it be great to have say 20 mins of the players going to each corner of the ground after the Gillingahm match - without kids and those sightly worse for wear trooping around with them. Yes we all want to pat the players on the back - but clearly 8000 can't do that- so why should a few hundred have the privilege?

it could and will be argued that the club is ultimately responsible for crowd control and in this instance they failed. it will be the club who get the fine, not the individual... but yes it stinks. we need barriers because there will always be one dic head that will be determined to run onto the pitch at some point and unfortunately , like sheep, alot of other brain deads will follow

Don't get me wrong I don't beleive there should be a witch hunt for people who went on the pitch and didn't show any threatening behaviour, after all Bury fans would have to face the same witch hunt. I agree its time to draw a line under it with clear guidelines for future matches and lets get back to talkinG about FOOTIE !!
