Soft Underbelly Midfield

Allot and Whittaker were very poor and their distribution awful, Morris still looks way off the pace and Talbot never got into the game.
Our defence really had little pressure on them for nearly an hour but then as the midfield went missing the Oxford attacks started to gain the upper hand.
I desperately feel that we need a central midfield player who can dominate a game, get it by the scruff of the neck and provide some stability in the middle of the park.
It's no wonder we have been leaking goals.
We need someone, not mattis, who is our best defender, in there and sooner rather than later.

TALBOTT ALLOTT WHITT MORRIS
Below is a Midfield that was not even in the Squad for one reason and another...................We have key players missing
LOWERY NIVEN MATTIS MORGAN

... What on earth are you on about?
Talbot is our first choice right winger, Allott starts nearly every game and so does Whittaker, either in the middle or down the left...

Not really.....obviously he has come back from Barrow for some reason but officially he cannot play for us until the original loan deal expires. This has no bearing on him playing in a friendly game where if the club had wanted they could have picked someone passing by to have a game!!

Exactly. A Danny Wilson type. Derek Niven is not the answere. He is ok, maybe Clay will be better option, but we need to bring someone in a ballwinner who can carry the ball forward from midfield with purpose

Herein lies the problem - not central midfield, although I agree they wern't at their best. Pace. The final frontier. I felt a bit sorry for Talbot who put in a number of good crosses which yielded nowt, but generally he has lost his sparkle. Morris hasn't got the pace and is forced to try to barge his way through. The fullbacks either wouldn't or couldn't get beyond the other two. Let's get Morgan and Lowry in there asap and we'll be fine.

ooof! (And he's a striker not CM) Seriously though went on PFA Transfer list and there isn't anyone of that description available on a free ATM we would have to shell out some serious dosh for the type of player we need.
