Sad, sad days, I don't buy into this Stags bashing. Mansfield were a decent Club with decent staff until Haslam got involved.

I'm not bashing them, just sense an opportunity to expand our youth set up

You can't blame Haslam for the money they have thrown away since he has gone

Another nail in their coffin.

The FL seems a long way away.

Cheers, Moondog - it was about time

That's on course to cost them a few quid isn't it?

For £35 in Mansfield people expect to drink enough to pass out and have a fist fight with a stranger.

i think it is sad actually. id love mansfield to be in our division so we can have two cracking derby games. wudnt you prefer to watch town beat mansfield then beat barnet or stevenage??. sad times for them. We could so easily have been in their position or worse by the time that k n o b darren brown had finished.

I'm told that originally they need to sell circa 9k tickets to break even but the tickets haven't been going well. Last time I heard which was back end of last week they had sold 6500ish and they were selling at around 80 a day with just a couple of weeks to go.

In order to shift them they have been advertising all over the place and the break even figure is nearer 10k now.

Not sure how they were going to fit many more than that in anyway unless they were having a large amount of standing tickets as the ground only holds 10k if they could utilise all the seats.

Look like taking a big loss

I dont care if we never play them again unless its in a cup game and we annihilate them.
I hope they are always at least one division below us

They're idiots to even try it with such a high risk strategy.

Lincoln lost money on Westlife didn't they a few years back?

I'd personally like a 2 division differential

Mansfield's demise can only do us good in attracting new fans from fringe areas between the two towns.
Who to watch? An established non league club or an established league club on the up and with a new stadium? It's a no-brainer

I enjoy the Mansfield games as they have/had a real edge to them and the away trip always felt like a home game due to the amount of CFC supporters. Whilst it's amusing to see them wallow, I do miss the rivalry.
If only....
