If you think that the Lincoln game compares anything like the Notts game then you know nothing about context. I'd liken it to the Carlisle Tuesday night away game in 95 for importance and its much more local.

We took considerably more to Cheltenham only a couple of years ago when we were at the bottom of the league. Sheridan must wonder why he bothers.

Get a grip.

The Carlisle was massively more important than Tuesday.

402 at cheltenham is fantastic imo,the away support is allways excellent, could we get 2000 to county?

Great following and I only wish I'll be there at County but the small matter of an addition to the Skywalker clan has prevented it. Hope you boys cheer us on to victory!!!!

The last time we played Cheltenham we were 4th bottom and we took 770.

Yes and we were in a higher division then as well. If youve been to any games these last couple of seasons you would realise what a terrible division league 2 is, couple that with the fact that money is very tight for some people and the ridiculous prices charged for entry (£20 today at Cheltenham and similar at Notts on tuesday ) then I think a 400+ following today was brilliant.

Mate I've been home and away in this division when we have been promoted the last 2 times and if you think 400 away fans is brilliant then there is something wrong.

Possible followings from now-

Notts County 1300
Burton 1500
Barnet 700
Grimsby 800
Macclesfield 1500
Accrington 1500

These will be much more like it assuming we're up and around 3rd place.

I know I've missed a lot of games recently so its probably hypocritical of me but 400 when we had a chance to go 3rd in the table having won our last 4 away on the trot and had 6 wins out of 7 is pretty gash imho. We took at least double that when we were looking to avoid relegation a couple of years back.

If I'm honest our attendances have been woeful and not really worthy of a promotion chasing team. What happened to when we used to take big away followings when we were on course for promotion? It's almost like no-one really believes yet that we are genuine contenders. County on Tuesday should see 2k plus but I'd be surprised if we took 1k at the minute. I know its expensive and I know due to my exile its a bit rich of me to say this but what do Chesterfield have to do to get people to believe and buy into the dream?

The results have been good, the luck has been excellent. Results and the Crewe game aside there hasn't been much to get excited about in these recent away games. Anyone coming back and giving an honest assessment of the games then it won't encourage many others to go. Rather than having a go at everyone else for not going get off your own a.rse and go and take some mates with you and get the numbers up.

We've had 4 away games in 4 weeks and some folk just can't afford to go to them all

Went today, missed two games all season and not missing another one, Cracking win today hopefully something special will happen in our favour result wise, Can't see 2000 with it being midweek but I'd expect at least 1000 on Tuesday

I read what you put,but assumed you must have been referring to the lock out game at Saltergate, as whilst the away game on 4/4/95 was 1st v 2nd they were 14 points ahead of us with the same games played, so I just don't see what you are getting at

It'll be more than that. A win Tuesday and it could be 4500. Anything else and it still should be over 4000.
