I travelled a round 160 miles trip for the last 15 years to make sure my dad got to the match, it was a father son thing. I of course will continue to make the trip, it's in the blood.

That's not to say that I'm not looking forward to our marvellous new stadium, no doubt I'll grow to love the Dema in time. The future looks exciting and I hope the club have greater success there for many years to come.
None of us will love the hassle after the game (except Dema Reborn

That's the nicest and saddest thing I think I ever read on here! Sadly I've never been as close to my dad as you where to yours. I was more closer to my mum who I lost a few years ago to cancer, she was only 60. I have fond memories of my mum and dad at Old Trafford, it was the only time I ever saw my mum at a football match (though she apparently went a few times when she was courting my dad), she was battling cancer then though she had a wonderful day, full of smiles and constantly waving a blue and white flag.
It's a lovely gesture mate, shame he couldn't have made the new ground, but with the brick he will always be there.

Hi Rugby Kev. So sorry to hear about your dad and as many others have said, my thoughts are with you. My family have done the same thing for my Grandpa who has passed away but also took me to my first game in 87/88 season when I was six. Been hooked ever since and same as you, my blood runs blue.

Sorry to hear about your dad mate. Always sad to hear about the passing of a fellow Spireite. Nice to see he will be immortalised through the brick as well as in your memories.
