A world away from Saturday, I thought it was a decent game tonight. Spoiled by the result and more importantly by the injury to Gragor.

The first half was fairly even though it was disjointed after the stoppage. I was impressed by Boden out wide and it was he that won a soft but valid penalty. Jack twice tested the keeper but Carlisle missed a couple of easy chances.

At the start of the second-half our movement ran them ragged Jack had his best game of the season but the two chances he created for himself fell to his left foot. Drew was also impressive and hit the post. Boden faded but Currie had a good game- even his corners caused problems including Brecks hitting the bar.

However we conceded bad goals. Picks was out-jumped at the back post but the Carlisle man pushed him before he jumped; Picks certainly complained. For the second we left two men up field but also left Murphy standing in space, his well directed header was almost kept out by Lee. The third came on the break when we threw everyone in the box. Boden tracked back and held up one man but there were two others available to score. My only issue with this was that there were 15 minutes to go and we will still capable of working openings.

We dropped a little after this and might have conceded more but overall it was a good effort- just the second goal was a shocker. That sort of performance would beat most in our division and was certainly entertaining. However most at our level will not give us that much room to play.

Summed the afternoon quite well there. Wernt a bad performance, thought we moved the ball well and looked confident up until there second goal. Robertson out with be a big blow on that side although im not a big fan of his. Good to see Pickin and Page back in the sqad but for a bulky lad he (Page) shyed from there players to much to make a big enough impact on the game IMO.

Phew, no need to worry about Rochdale then?

Must admit I was getting concerned

No complaints about their third - a good goal on the break. The second one certainly should have been saved by Tommy, and Les blamed Tommy for the first, gesticulating angrily that he should have cut out the cross.

i think a draw would have been a fair reflection on the game on the balance of things. their last goal gave them the confidence to see the game out at a canter.

 Games like last nights are all about taking your chances. Jack created himself a couple of pearlers but shot straight at the keeper. Talbot was foiled by the keeper a couple of times and of course we hit the bar.
Many a good tune

A much better game than saturday, although Carlisle gave us much more room to play in than Bournemouth but our passing did improve last night. We need to fathom out what our best defensive unit is and stick with it, obviously it doesn't help when players get injured or suspended but was it fair to drop Hall after just one poor game plus another where we got a clean sheet, should brecks keep his place, could crossley do a better job than Lee. Niven put himself about lots last night but is distribution was typical niven. Allott played very well imo, but was slated by the fans for about 3 bad passes - when he made bad passes they were ones that nearly cost us it has to be said but on the whole i thought he was a contender for man of the match. Talbot was frustrated with his own performace as he's played better, Boden was much better than saturday and didn't fade out the game last night, Jack looked much better also last night - another game where he wasn't heavily marked, but he didn't do enough to get us a goal.

The most impressive player for me was Currie, slated by most but last night i can't recall him doing one wrong thing, he put good crosses in the box, showed good skill etc and i would definately give him a starting place on saturday as with Donal gone, and Lowry injured, and now Robo he could well earn his crust given his performance last night, unless Gritts comes into the equation at the weekend allowing Talbot to play wide, we need Currie - our only other fit natural winger on the pitch.

Then there's Bowery, i really do want all of our young players to do well and make the grade but Jordan has now come on two games in succession and has hardly made a positive contribution, he has lightning pace but his awareness and fight are very poor for someone who we need to make an impact as soon as they enter the field, glad he scored against huddersfield but he's hardly what we need as the only striker on the bench when we need to get back into games, i'd have prefered Talbot to stay on til the end last night, if bowery was to come on it should have been for a more defensive player as we needed someone with experience on the pitch to patner jack til the end of the game. Bowery for me needs a month or two on loan to a non league side to gain experience and development, he currently looks like he's going to take an awful long time before he's up to first team league standard. Another game where i feel gritts experience was something we really needed as an option but once again it wasn't there.

if you dont score when on top thats what hapens in football, cant say I agree about Boden getting brought down for pen was all he did ,dont know how he got in another 90 mins looks well out of it, on sat he was ok for 10 mins then got moved out wide doesnt look like a winger to me.I dont agree about 3rd goal either we didnt throw every body forward as you said it was the two big defenders Page and Brekin just like any other corner ,what was wrong was that we got caught with a forward trying to do a job in defence.
