Tommy also made some fantastic saves last night...

He shouldnt be dropped for the failures of others

i agree, fans start to blame players such as Tommy when he is one of the best keepers here we've had for a couple of years

Right ok, you've made my post a Tommy Lee thing - my point is about our defensive frailties including Tommy. With us leaking goals galore I feel at this time CROSSLEY should be given a go to try and take the pressure off a little. Tommy rarely comes for the high ball and relies on the defence, maybe it should be a bit more of the other way round.

I may have criticised Crossley early doors but surely perceptions change with performances - we'd be pretty stupid not to react to failings and short comings. I do like Tommy but we are being rolled over too easily, surely we try something to improve the situation.

I refer to my earlier post, are you sure you're not related to Tony Mcshane

 Dont think Crossley is the guy to put Lee's position under threat. Tommy had a bit of a mare at times last night and was at fault for the first two of their goals but to replace him with Crossley---no thankyou!

Harsh!! For the second one at least some bloke was given a free header which he saved and it went in off one of his own players!! How the hell is that his fault!!??

 Hardly a bullet header which he got to and let slip. You only had to look at his face----he knew he'd cocked-up!

Tommy Lee is the least of our worries in defence. Very little protection last night from those infront of him. Bizarre suggestion to mark him out as the root of our problems.

I don't think it would be right to drop Tommy as the people infront of him can't defend and mark the players well enough, we need to rectify the defensive problems where they exist, tommy could do better sometimes but if it wasn't for the good saves he makes each game we'd be conceding even more goals. Crossley may offer more oragnisation skills due to his experience, and coaching role but Brecks is captain so if he can't organise the defence then perhaps someone else should be given the armband.

I wonder if one of the proritises on JS's shopping list should be a centre back, page and brecks and too slow against pacey wingers, gray isn't really a CB and is also slow, Hall has had one good game inc a clean sheet, one bad one and has now been dropped, and Little although has played centre back before in his career is far from the finished article. Pacey, good centre backs that aren't playing regularly elsewhere are hard to come by though.

We need to be stopping opposing players before the get chance to shoot on goal, it won't matter who's in goal if the players in front aren't doing their jobs properly, we'll still concede.

One of them he saved only for it to go in off Lester!! Thats hardly letting a soft header go through him!!

I have faith in Lee and more importantly so does Sheridan otherwise he'd be playing his mate in goal.

Crossley got 8 clean sheets at oldham last season, from august until december, which must mean he's quite good for his age, he only played two games in 2009 though due to injury so perhaps the reason he doesn't look fit enough is due to the injury, and lack of games this year, perhaps he put a bit extra weight on while he was out and hasn't shed it since

I thought Tommy Lee did very well on Tuesday night, he pulled of a couple of brilliant saves, he was let down by the back 4.

The thought of "Norm" getting in between the sticks scares me he is no where near as agile or fit, good in his day and good as a last resort but no way on gods green earth should Lee be dropped for Crossley.

It's a myth that Norm played badly at Torquay. The only thing he did wrong was drop a cross, which he then picked up. He's got a gammy leg and, just like Kev Davies, aint as slim as he used to be. So without wishing to enter the debate on whether Tommy should be dropped, I'm confident that we have a perfectly able replacement if he is.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Am I reading this wrong? You think a perfectly able replacement is a fatty with a gammy leg???
Don't worry what people think, they don't do it very often.
