My hobby is birdwatching and wildlife conservation I really love doing evnts with the RSPB and enjoy meeting people who give up their time to work on these projects. I love to see the faces of the children when they see wildlife up close for the first time (and some adults too) We are totally surrounded by nature and many people do not even realise it's there

Don't get me wrong I love town, but if it was a choice between that and snowboarding or DJing, or playing guitar I'd have to give up my seat on compton.

Can't beat nature or the countryside, we're lucky people to be living so close to the peaks. Walking out on the moors is always a winner too.

I'll answer for Fish, Nice walks down their and some nice birds. Stood no more than 6 feet away watching a hen bulfinch feeding a fledgling down there! The long tailed tits are fantastic in the autumn & winter when the leaves are gone and they flock together; you can get real close to them, their just to busy looking for food to even care that you're there!
Some great birds on the feeder at one of the hides. Theres a nice bench their and you can sit and watch them to your hearts content! Most folks don't bother with the hide and just walk past with their dogs.
EDIT: If you fancy a decent walk, try walking up to Sutton Hall and back, Nice old relic and worth a visit! You can of course get there by car but it's not the same! I'm guessing it's about a 8 mile round trip from the car park next to Auto Supplies.

At least once a week but I go go far and wide. Camping in the highlands, Wales anywhere I feel like really, many people do not realise whats on their doorstep. Over the many years I have found countless places well away from the general public to walk and watch in peace and seclusion. I have seen the true wonder of nature first hand and it never fails to leave me in awe. Theres something different every time you go out, all you need is patience. I once went to Rufford Park early one morning before the public as a whole arrived and I met a couple walking their dog. They asked me what i was doing, birdwatching I replied, don't know why none here they said. so I invited them to sit with me for 30 mins which they did and I pointed out to them 31 species all within 50 yards of us. They are now good friends of mine and like me avid nature lovers. like the advert says 'priceless'

Like you said my birds would win, but don't ask me to choose as I'm very passionate about town as well.
