Chesterfield FC is about to start building its new multi-million pound Stadium in the heart of Chesterfield. The 10,600 seat ground in the town’s Moor Ward will, as well as excellent playing facilities, boast state-of-the-art corporate and conferencing facilities in the West Stand.
In the East Stand there will be a project led by the Chesterfield FC Community Trust that will be based in a two story integrated facility. The Trust will incorporate existing community projects but will work along side new partners to use the positive power of football to benefit all in the region. The work at the club is actively backed by the Football League Trust.
It’s expected that, as well as offices for the project and partners, the Community Stand will incorporate classrooms, medical facilities, an IT suite, a gym and multi-purpose rooms. Although indicative plans have been made there is still scope for partners to influence the build.
Wanting to provide more than just facilities, the Trust expects to be a catalyst for other projects in Chesterfield and the surrounding area using football and the Chesterfield FC brand. It’s hoped that existing partnerships with schools, local authorities, health trusts and the police will be supplemented by other partners for even wider reaching projects.
Community Director John Croot and his team will be happy to meet individually with partners but as well as this there is a launch presentation about the Stadium, the Community Stand and the Trust. This will take place on Tuesday 28th July before Spireites’ friendly Leicester City at Saltergate.
Refreshments will be available in the Executive Club from 6.15pm with a presentation by the Football League Trust and Chesterfield FC Community Trust from 6.30pm. This will leave plenty of time to look at the plans and discuss ideas before the match. All delegates at the launch will be guests of Chesterfield FC for the match.
Interested parties should contact John Croot at the club on 01246 209765.

Thanks for that Phil,
The plans cover a wealth of detailand aspirations for all at the club. As a complete outsider do you know how this has been marketed and I guess there has been a lot of time and effort been put into this free of charge by people at the club. If this is our future it will make me immensley pround to be a fan and would you please pass on my grateful appreciation to everyone involved.
Dave in Dema Heaven.

a bit different don't you think. A supporter asked a question about the article, the article in question wasn't available on the web so the author, a regular contributor to this messageboard, and an all round good egg, posts it so those of us unfortunate enough to live away from town have the chance to read it. The article is unavailable elsewhere and of interest to town fans, why on earth should Phil not post it. A bit different from your posting a link which could deprive the club of income.

Phil was told about the Launch because of his background in the Club’s community work, and because I want his help at the event. He told me in advance that he would use the information in the Green Un.
At this stage the Launch is more about engaging selected partners rather than throwing the event open to all. Most of the publicity will come out of the Launch rather than before it.
However one major player contacted us after the article as I had missed him!

Is that a slip Pete, player or interested party?
