Well it would seem our poker faced stance has won the first battle of wits, and if as his agent would have us believe, there are another 8 clubs showing an interest, added to the fact that its only the 6th of Jan, I would say at this stage we probably can refuse it.

We had until 5pm today to reply to their original offer so why would they increase it before then? Have we already refused it? Have we made it clear to them we have had other offers? Is it a closed bid auction? Did Wards agents media claims of 8 clubs being interested make barnsley up their bid?? Did Odejayi not wanting to come here force their hand? Did ward go there and show interest? Did he go their and not show interest?

More twists to come on this one i think!

Fair to assume that Barnsley's first bid was probably just hopeful and they are prepared to go higher.
I would settle on £500-600k and no sell on clause, let's have the cash now when we really need it!

I thought the club said Ward would be here for the rest of the season

I may be wrong because I'm sure I also missed the announcement before Xmas of the new investor

Didnt they actually say after he turned the contract down that it would take a very good bid for us to part with him in January.....i suspect something around £400\500k would fit that bracket.
