Why does my PM inbox tell me I have -1 messages! (in the top right hand corner, next to my assistant, shows on every page!)

What have I done to it, there aren't any unread / unsent messages in there, whats happening?

Should I just delete all and hope for the best?

ooooh not sure....
i can have a dig around and check if you like.

if you want to keep your messages safe, you can select archive messages, which, if you pick the settings you want, will e-mail you a file with the messages in it and delete them at the same time from your control panel.

Not that bothered in fairness, just wondered what it was!

Just deleted them all - but I still have -1 message

Sorted - Pm'd my self, deleted it and now have zero new messages!

Looking around, it seems it's a reasonably common problem with invision boards, but i couldn't find a common cause.
Theories included people deleting a PM they'd sent to you before you'd read it (which i'm not even sure you can do)
or just the board has got confused and it hasn't yet done it's daily recalculate totals (ok, that's my theory)

I'll keep digging around, i'd like to know myself

If you go into message tracker in your control panel, there is the option to delete messages that are un-read by the user you have PM'd.

I have the opposite problem, just to be awkward! Although it's not really a problem as such. In my 'sent' folder I have 4 messages, yet it states I have 7. If I delete all the 'sent' PM's then I still have 3!

And I didn't realise you could save PM's until you just said, good idea that. You learn something new every day...
