The obvious one is Dave Allen, although not been at a game since last season, the long running saga at Wednesday could explain why its dragging on here.
Wikipedia has Chris Taylor down as an investor and apart from talk of him being a local property developer who's done really well for himself, little more is known of him.
This leaves one other 'potential' and i've been trying to think who locally might be interested:
Perez - has already distanced himself from investing and his big passion appears to be Motor Racing but still a possible in some capacity?
That leaves me with one name, Keith Haslam, was pretty much forced out at Mansfield and if he wants to get back in to football, would he be interested in coming here?
What would peoples thoughts be if he came onboard?

i cant really see him ever being welcomed anywhere as much i enjoyed seeing the goings on over the m1
it shouldn't happen to any team anywhere so he will not be welcome and i'm sure there will be protests
no doubt this post is for a laugh

Its quite a big question really and one that the local media (derbyshire times especially) should be delving into to earn their salt.
There is scant reference to Dave Allen being the owner-in-waiting of CFC in any media. As for a group of investors, well ..who are they?

Are you serious mate?
He'd finish off the job Brown started. He still owes over £750,000 to Mansfield Town that he took in loans to his other companies...he has creamed off the top of that football club for years...for example when they gained promotion and their gates were around 5,000 he was paying himself a 6 figure salary.
They inevitably got relegated after losing greenacre and some of their other better players...he didn't stump up any cash to help just help in the signing of a few loanees.
He shouldn't be allowed near any football club again let alone our own...the CFSS would fail in its main useful purpose if he was allowed to even walk into the ground.
Over my dead body.

Perhaps he was the 3rd party that fell away due to not being able to produce proof of funds?
Who knows, just speculation on my part and i just wondered what other fans thought.

Hubbard has a responsibility to not make the same mistake Norton Lea made with Darren Brown. Hubbard can walk away smelling of roses if we sell to a consortium who want to take the club forwards...I for one will praise BH and be eternally grateful for steadying the ship when we needed him the most and passing the buck to a group of genuine people.
Not KH though.

Come on Sammy, I thought I knew you better than that!
Do you really think Barrie Hubbard would entertain a tw8t like that?

LOL
There was something on back page saying Hubbard's SW interview did not comment on the ramifications of the new stadium costing an extra £3m. In that case why not pick up the phone and ask him?
If the Mansfield Chad covered Chesterfield they would have named and interviewed (or at least tried) the group of investors long ago.

This is what concerns me and has always concerned me and sorry to beat this same old tired drum again but WHAT THE HELL!!!!
It started as a £2million shortfall...which rose to £3million...I certainly hope this doesn't mean that the shortfall to the build cost has now risen to £6million shortfall?
I hope this will be met by the investors and not paid for by loans (at the current rates).
I also hope that we've renegotiated a favourable deal considering the economic decline recently...lots of construction companies looking for work. I'm sure we could have forced a better deal. I guess that's Stevensons department though and he'll have that sorted.
Just concered about the shortfall

Steve Perez has no interest in football, but his brother Santi is passionate about the club. Problem is, Steve is the one with the money.

I know Santi is the man with the money but that doesn't mean he has to be the one that has to control the club. Santi invests in the club as a silent partner leaving Steve to be the man at the forefront of the deal.

MMM. I heard VK mentioned earlier this year by two individuals who should know better. However, it was an associate of VK, rather than a Perez, maybe things have moved on. Also, the profiles give out by Barrie on the BBC, don't match Santi or Steve.
BTW, Steve is the one with the cash!
