I must say I'm impressed with the new signings so far.

Page and Austin come from higher divisions and come with rave reviews and leadership credentials.
Harsley was Port Vale's captain.
All leaders - something we were lacking last season, especially in the Centre Back positions what with Downes and Kovacs being young and Gray underachieving.

Now we've lost Leven, I think we've lost some creativity in midfield..........I don't see it coming from Niven or Kerry. Winter may be but he needs a good pre-season and a run in the side.

We also need creativity and a bit of flair in wide positions. I would love to see an out and out winger sign.

We also need the option of a big target man up front. Preferably someone not on his last legs (Chief and Big Guns) please......!

Totally agree with you and I said this on another thread.

The team looks very solid (something we could only dream of last term) and very good upfront, but we don't have much in the way of creative players; if we can address this then I know where my moneys going :)

We'll have the same problem as past year - how to fit Ward and Lester AND a big target man into a 4-4-2 formation.
Here's an idea - sign a very tall winger.

i dont understand the comments about fletch not being mobile. he was streets ahead of cheif and not exactly slow for a bloke of his size. he was quite a powerful runner when he got in his stride

that's a very good idea, but they are like gold dust. I can only think of Ellison, the proverbial cart horse.

I don't think we could afford him, from what I hear he is on a super-dooper contract and that is why the Gills are so keen to get rid.
