Didnt say, just said he was off, but I was off out to work so I could have missed any follow up.

The story has perhaps come from his agent, then - I expect CFC will have nothing to announce until player and agent get round to telling them, if he's off.

I have a faint memory of that being mentioned on here as a rumour, a while back. I see that their squad list includes Michael Barnes, the attacking midfielder, and many others who won't be here next season; it also gives Hines a squad number. I wonder if they've all been on the pop, and have confused Zavon with Derbyshire cricket's newest West Indian recruit? Someone at Sky has heard the rumour and decided to put it up; if he's right, he looks like a genius, and if not, well, he looks like a Murdoch journalist. There isn't a photo of him anywhere in the official website's editorial tool, which is often my way of getting a day or two's start on impending transfers! That isn't to say that there isn't anything in it, of course.

stu is right this was on here a while back,i seem to remember someone saying he was good and there was no way we would get him. their squad list looks very outdated so i would treat it with suspicion.

There has been a rumour around about a wide midfielder connected with Coventry City. His Wiki entry says he is a striker but the pacy bit fits the bill. He spent a month at Coventry where he scored in the game aganst Wednesday on April 1. The number 9 bit is easy to solve - that was the squad number Coventry gave him.

PS Didn't he have a hit with Werewolves of London a few years ago?

No-one is aware we signed him. A Sky Journo seems either to have inside info or has transfered him to us in error after a "long lunch". The only reason I picked it up is that it fits in with a rumour I heard. He sounds a genuine prospect and it does seem that WHU are keen to loan him out for experience. He was at Cov last season and also has trials with Bury. Whether that was pre- or post- Kill moving there I don't know .

He has just been on a tour of Hong Kong last month with WHU and he seems to be doing well,Sky is a bit iffy regarding information that link still has Allison playing for us.

I hear he is bound for another club but the Coventry rumour persists. That raises the possibility that the target is me. You know where I am Rico - pick up that phone. Not a pacy winger - more of a goalkeeper-cum-defender. But put your faith in me and I won't let you down (ps do I get a refund on my season ticket if I sign up?).

Be quick though - I hear Lincoln are looking for a keeper and centre half. I had trials there over 30 years ago. Still waiting to hear but I am still available if anyone from the Imps is reading these boards. Of course they may prefer Kovacs for centre half (not exactly a step forward for the big fella but I believe he's looking for a job) though I'm sure I can push Rochey hard for the keepers spot

Do you think we might have been interested in that young Coventry winger who signed for the Cobblers? That would explain the persistent rumour.

By the way, you are just the right age for a goalkeeper so hang on to the dream!!

I thought that too but the rumour survives that signing!

Thanks for your kind words - I'll dig out my gloves!

As much as i like Kovacs,if last friday was the deadline he should be given one last chance to sign it,if he doesn't then we should go and find a replacement, the players will be reporting back around 1st July and we need to move on,he should remember who gave him his chance of football in this country,i will always remember his goal at Lincoln followed by his celebrations, but whatever he decides i wish him well,i would love to think he will sign for us.....

From what I hear Janos himself has fond memories of Sincil Bank!

Oh btw is Kovacs back here now and his girlfriend and is he going to sign or not....

He's not moving back into his flat on Ashgate Road for sure - new people living there already. I think that may indicate he's unlikely to re-sign

Perhaps he's looking for a waterside property?

Are Lincoln pushing the boat out then? Janos would be a good signing for any club at this level.

Imps for an each way flutter?
A new hope.

Don't put the mortgage down on it just yet but it might be worth an each way bet (any League club in Lincolnshire for a place :ninja: )

Mind you, I used to live in Lincolnshire - let's just say it is a bold choice for a young man to make. Once he's tired of the bright lights of Lincoln (that would be about 45 minutes after he arrives) there isn't really much left unless you have a particular interest in the history and horticulture of Brussel Sprouts.
