Will that make him scum as well !!

What a ridiculous comment to make. Scum are people that rob old people and use knifes.

If you want to use that word against a footballer try using it against your beloved Rio Ferdinand, the man who misses drug tests, the man who films star struck teenagers having sex with him and his mate, the man who parks on double yellow lines and disabled spots as he would sooner pay the fine, now there is a real scummer !!!

Good luck Peter Leven if you don't want to play for us then fine but thanks for your efforts.

Will miss him but now its time to move on.

you cant blame him for wanting to play in a higher division - some players never get that chance so you have to make the most of it while you can.

Why ?

He had his moments which i think we can all agree which made our first choice centre midfielder

BUT

He was no doubt a real talent at Rangers pre knee injury which certainly robbed him of any real pace he had

So for me he now lacks the required pace and was often out muscled off the ball when it really mattered in our own half exposing a dodgy defence and his finishing was poor. That's not even going into him going walkabout when playing on the left

Should be interesting to see how he gets on playing alongside Andrews assuming that's where the Mk manager decides to play him

Well, after much ground breaking research, I can confirm that on Jack's netbusters, Leven was the last person to touch the ball before Jack on 6 occasions. Add to that his personal goal tally, his long throws which provided numerous assists, his long ball passing, and we have the most creative midfielder we have had at the club since Bonnyman. I don't think it is possible for Town to replace him with one individual, we will have to provide more threats from more positions.

MK Dons already have a midfield enforcer. I think Leven will play much further forward, in his best position. He's another Wellens.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I think you`ll find he`s a Real Madrid player next season!!, and I`m sure youd never label him "scum"..that was a disgusting comment that desereved apology to the message board.

Mr Mercury

You should have been sat with me in the hotel bar in greece i was watching the game at when he got Rooney sent off,if it had been left to me he wouldn't have worn the red shirt again but as ever i do calm down eventually, but this has got nothing to do with Ronaldo.

I rated Leven i never called him fat or overweight,i am genuinely upset we have lost him,you should have a go at those ppl who called him fat.

And Smithy my loyalties lie with Chesterfield, they always have and always will do,guess who i am having a season ticket with next season, again, and i will repeat again if town ever met United in any cup competition there could only be one winner for me,i hope this is that season,if we beat them i will get as close to the pitch as i possibly could, never question my loyalties where town are concerned....

I missed all of this topic as I didn't log on last night. I'm afraid I too have to join the anti-SB bandwagon as I can't believe some of the ridiculous comments he's made on this topic. Whilst I could understand how SB or anyone else could be disappointed that Leven has not stayed with us, I don't see how anyone can criticise him for wanting to progress as far as he can in the game. He had the decency to tell us his intentions when he signed for us - ie he wanted to be playing Div 1 football in the 08/09 season be that for CFC or another team (call it being mercenary or a pro just wanting to achieve what he can). At the end of the season we've failed to gain promotion and he's left to go and play for a Div 1 team just as he stated he would. You can't say fairer than that can you? I mean, its hardly come out of the blue has it? Now I could understand SB's outrage if he had departed with some stinging remarks about CFC and its supporters etc but to date thats not the case.

As for calling him scum thats just ridiculous. I suspect that the majority of CFC players, if offered a contract by ourselves and one from a bigger and better team, in a higher division playing a better standard of football for more money, would choose the latter. That's not because they're scum but more likely due to the fact that the majority of professional footballers have aspirations above and beyond playing for Chesterfield in Div 2.

Not worth commenting on really.

But what narks me off more than anything is that i have a go at a player for leaving and i get a volley of abuse but it is ok for the likes of some on here to slag our players off who are staying, lets name some shall we Roche,Downes,Winter,Robertson, even Niven and Picken have come in for some stick, god help our new lads if they don't perform.
Then there is the manager and our chairman getting slagged off,Rico cannot even grow a beard now without some moron starting a thread abusing him for it,jesus some on here think they are high and mighty, never wrong always right, they know it all but they know f/all,why aren't they football managers we would be in europe before you could say Jack Lester,oh and didn't our Jack get a bit of stick somewhere along this season :ninja:

Harsh. I saw it as a bit of banter - others took it further.

You take things too far - I'll await Janos' departure to see if he is classed as "scum" also.

Although this was inevitable, I'm still pretty annoyed about the £100k rejection 6 months ago.

He shouldn't be missed. MK Dons website describes him as 'energetic'. Hmm. Too anonymus too many times, with the occassional glimpse of talent being shown too infrequently.

One year contract too - he doesn't like to committ does he?I'd like to say good luck, but he's signed for a scummy club so I won't.

Sounds to me like he thinks he is something he is not! In my eyes he is not the footballer he obviously thinks he is.

Good riddens i say, just ashame we didnt make 100k out of it.

No. Thought he was a decent midfielder. Could we do better? I'm sure we could but attracting such a player won't be easy.

My point was Leven signed for one season and stated right at the start that he wanted to be playing in a higher division in season 08/09. We've failed to provide football at the higher division for him so he's left. I really don't see how anyone can complain as he has done exactly what he said he would from day one.

And as for labelling scum, surely you can see that what a little out of order?

This comment has caused a bit of controversy on here. lol, Leven is not scum in my eyes he is close, very close but if he was a good player and he bummed us then i would brand him scum, like Hudson. But he is not half the player he thinks he is.. Mind you id have left Town for MK i bet the changing rooms are warmer!!

Maybe with that attitude Si we might be in league two for many more seasons to come.....i think Leven has just used us as a stepping stone to better himself and had no intentions of staying here whatever we did last season,he won't go down in the folklore history of Chestefield with me no matter how anybody dresses this up,MK are welcome to him and that is how i feel,i feel let down and disappointed, maybe we should have put him on that train to Brighton.....

To be fair the staff are not underperforming. CFC are where they belong at the minute. If we go up then we will be over acheiving!

Too good for Town or too good for Div 2? I think you're reading into it and almost taking it personally for the team (if you get what I mean). If he had moved from CFC to another Div 2 outfit I could sort of understand your comment. However, he stated he wanted to play Div 1 next season and that's where he's moved to. To me that suggests he believes he's too good for this Div.

Of course he did...how many of our current set up wouldnt leave do you think if they got better offers?

Chesterfield players are not Chesterfield fans... they dont love the club..its a place of work for them.. you get better offers and you go, and in the modern age you have to accept thats how it is... The days of having Blatherwicks and Fletchers around are practically over.

Your opinion..I disagree. We should have done better last season.
