Why the hell have we turned down a 6 figure bid for a player that aint that great and wants to leave at the end of the season anyway.

I believe we will be selecting a new captain and are holding out for more money! Can you blame us? In my view I think he will be off tonight to the south coast!
Can we get them up to 150K that would leave them with a replacement for Hammond and 100K in the bank! I'd take it!

He'll need a helicopter, as he'll be cutting it fine to squeeze in a medical, that Brighton might see as essential given his serious knee injury

You ought to look at some of the figures being branded about to land their man! one seagull fan reckons 300K  bye, bye Leven :P

and

another think ******* sugested that they should loan him until the end of the season and sign him after his contract runs out  that's so funny

Only another 5 hrs for Rico & Alan Walters sat around the 3kw heater at Saltergate then!

Where is Rico? Is he at this moment sitting in motorway service station waiting for his man to turn up and sign.

100 grand for a player out of contract in 4 months? I'd snap there hand off.

They have just got wiff of our valuations of him! Think we've got them a little worried what they might be getting

Post from North Stand Chat:

'We should go back with an improved offer

£125,000 take it or leave it.

They will take it, their fans on the board are shocked that our hands haven't been snapped off.'

The reply was if they think like that he can't be up to much

Well done town I think you are doing the right thing for once!

What by driving a hard bargain or not letting him go?

Be interesting to know if Leven wants to go. That would just about sum things up, keeping an unhappy player so we can lose him for knackers all in the summer.

 A player knows he may move at end of season for nothing to bigger things!!! Will he have any motivation for our cause and aspirations? Could be better to take the offer and pick up SOME loan players to help us push on to promotion.
Many a good tune

For driving a hard bargin, town have Brighton over a barrel! We don't need to sell as we need to replace so if we do sell then it will have to be on our terms, we know they have 250K for Hammond and are milking it for what we can get!

If they don't come back so what! whats 100K for our captain? ok we lose him for nowt in the summer but trying to replace is so hard! If you think it as any different then why are Brighton chasing him and not going for plan b?

I agree.

Selling him for 100k could mean a couple of loan players on 50k each for half a season. Thats players on 2k + a week. A touch simplistic but you get what I'm on about.

I for one hope it's them left holding the crappy 'no replacement' stick and not us.

I still think he will be gone tonight and we'll be able to have 3 loan signings  (if we've got that many left  )

Have we lost the plot?

Can someone highlight the difference between selling Mark Allott for £20K with a year left on his deal and turning down a £100K for a player with 6 months left on his current deal.

One player wanted to move to Oldham and one player is refusing to review his situation until the summer!

yep. It must come as a bit of a shock for all those who have been arguing that Leven is a fat lazy bustard who wasn't fit to lace Allott's boots, or that our midfield is the weak point in the team. That's a bid from Brighton for Leven today then, following a bid by Hull for Niven last year.

Leven has created more goals with his long throws in 6 months than Allott did with either hands or feet in 3 years, and anybody who watched Lester peeling off Stockport's centre half and running into space in the certain knowledge that the ball would arrive in a forwardly direction on a sixpence from Leven's trusty left foot would recognise the difference at once.

I don't know what's happening with this transfer, but after his successes with Folan, Lester, Kovacs, Lowry, and all the loanees that have come in, I have every confidence that Rico will call it right.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on
